---------------------------

That was a rough loss. Before I even get into it I want to make sure we all know that the Broncos defense is for real. Their offense isn't all that, but when it came time to make a play their big time WR did just that.

Hats off to the Broncos for hanging on in a hard fought game.
  • This wasn't one of Tony Romo's best games. Something is up with his accuracy and it's been that way since the season began. He's erratic and throwing low or high depending on the flip of a coin. Not sure what's going on, but if it continues this offense will struggle.
  • Roy Williams is going to be hurting. I have not seen the post game reports but I am guessing he's got some heavily bruised ribs if they are not broken.
  • Where was Jason Witten today? Where was the running game today? Where is someone to make a play to make this a 'W' instead of a 'L'.
  • Jason Garrett is losing my confidence game by game. No way you go to Sam Hurd against Champ Bailey while Jason Witten is held in to block on those last two plays. Even if it worked a smart football fan would be questioning those calls big time.
  • I would have liked to see Romo try and hit a much bigger target down in the End Zone to finish the game. Namely Jason Witten or Martellus Bennett.
  • Defense. They played well for the most part. But the Broncos offense isn't spectacular either. That last play to Brandon Marshall was part him making a huge play and part the Cowboys defense not making a big play to keep him out of the End Zone.
  • I hate to do this. But Terence Newman is no Champ Bailey and the last five minutes of this game showed you that.
  • I am now officially worried about Demarcus Ware.
  • Gerald Sensabaugh has a broken thumb. Not sure if that means that he misses time.
  • Barber gave it all he could.
  • The offensive line was average today.
  • Overall I think the Cowboys played hard. I think they played tough. I think they left some points on the field, but that is to be expected in every game because no team is perfect. Great teams go on the road and win games like this. I guess what I am trying to say is that this Cowboys team isn't great and I am not sure it can become that during this 2009 season.

Good points DC, I agree with pretty much every one of them. I especially agree with the point about trying to figure out why we didn't go to our tight ends in the end zone at the end of the game when we were missing our best wide receiver.

This boggles me also...would Bennett or Witten not be a better option. Going to Hurd, who is covered by Bailey twice is beyond me. No excuse for that.
At least try one lob in the corner to Bennett.

Yes, this team is an average team, that is most likely to end up being 8-8, i.e. if they get enough wins by December. If not, they won't be an 8-8 team, I am afraid. December is brutal again.

Cowboys went to max protect on the last 2 plays b/c Bronco's were playing Witten tight when he went out and putting some heavy heat on Romo at the same time.

What I don't understand is why didn't Garrett try to adjust by moving the pocket and give Romo the ability to do what he does best makes plays on the run.

Not that it really matters, but I don't understand why pass interference wasn't called on Bailey on the last play of the game. He had his entire arm wrapped around Hurd. That's what allowed him to get a hand on the ball and/or Hurd's arm. That's called almost every time. I have no idea whether we would've scored on the next play, but it was definitely pass interference.

This is pathetic. How you do not go with your best players and try to be pretty, i dont know.

I am surprised Romo didnt move around to a run/pass option

Romo is not reading the field well at all. Looking at some of those replays his first read should of been to the other side of the field on a lot of those throws.

On the last play of the game, Austin is wide open on the top of the field.

Champ Bailey and the Broncos defense BAITED Romo. You can hear Aikman saying that "Champ Bailey gave Sam Hurd the inside position both times, but was still able to get a hand in and make the play". Baailey gave the inside position on purpose to BAIT romo into a seeming open WR route which more practically was a pair of ill-advided throws. Once Romo commited to both throws, Bailey then made his move to defennd. What's alarming is that he did it TWICE! He set that up, played it perfectly, and exposed Romo for the medocre QB that he is. Romo should take heed from the old saying "fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me".

Romo should have been on the move for one of those plays. Get the guy out in space, stretch the D out and make them account for the run-in threat as well as the pass on the same play.

More evidence that Ginger is in over his head.

Wade is lost and the supposed next guy in line doesn't know his *** from a hole in the ground.

SWEET!

Why did Garrett abandon the run in the second half and why did we stop throwing passes to the RBs out of the back field in the second half?

Garrett is the real gunslinger, he doesnt know how to stay patient or win tough close defensive battles. The original game plan was to get the RBs involved both running and in the flats and the offense was very effective in the first half doing so. For some reason all that went out the window in the second half.

MB3 gets one carry the whole second half. One?

I think part of what happened to the running game was that Garrett abandoned the running game to get the passing game going.Once that it was evident that Romo was off he tried to go back to the running game, unfortunately they couldn't get it going again.I don't know what the run/pass ratio was today,it seemed in the 1st half it was close to 50/50 run/pass.But in the 2nd half it seemed that the pass was called a good bit more than the run.I believe prior to the last drive they only had about 60yds offense in the 2nd half which is pretty anemic.

The broncos are not that good....what i see is a average Cowboys team with no number 1 Wr, a soft coach, a to smart for myself Offensive cord, a inconsistant Qb and a Owner that doesnt get out of the way.

I see a average team with yet again another year of no accountability.

They were blitzing the house. Witten could have got open for an easy TD. Garrett gets paid millions to draw up a play with Hurd vs Champ ... 2 times with the game on the line??? Unreal. Tecmo has no clue how to call a football game. He is one of the worst play callers i have ever seen. What about Bennett??? All camp he made these TD catches and not even on the field? I don’t get it. Sadly, you are looking at your next HC.
