Here's a story on Nate Newton losing 101 pounds recently...

Wow. That does not even look like Nate. I think he makes a great point about making a total commitment to this if you decide to use a procedure to lose weight.

Passing McDonalds and the Golden Fries, lol.

Great job Big Nate!

I can not imagine Nate at 235.

Congrats to him on his big time weight loss.

 You got that right.

A couple friends of friends have gotten a lap band or bypass, and I always think that if you gave up the cokes and fries and fatty foods like you have to after the surgery, you'd never need it in the first place.

But good for Nate. It'll probably add 10 or 20 years to his life.

Going from weed to crack will do that to a fella.

Who wants to bet hell have it all packed back on in 6 months? Any takers??

That happens a lot to people who end up having surgery. I lost 100 pounds the old-fashioned way and I've kept it off, but every person I know who has had that surgery has started gaining the weight back if they haven't gained it back already.

I would think that the fact if a person is naturally big boned that they would always have weight issues. Or if they have a glandular problem.

BTW skinny people rule!

My brother-in-law had the lap band surgery and lost 120 pounds. I almost didn't recognize him the first time I saw him. If I had not heard Nate talk, I might not have known that was him.

The reason why most people fail to keep weight off when they use surgery to get it off is because they lack the motivation to work hard to keep it off. I was never obese, but I decided to get in better shape and went from 200 pounds down to 160 in about a year, and I've never had a problem staying thin now. Why? Because I worked my butt off eating better and exercising to do so, rather than having a surgery and keeping the same bad eating habits.

People think losing weight is hard. It's not. Changing your lifestyle is hard, sure, but weight loss comes down to eating less and moving more, plain and simple. Anybody can do it.

His head has shrunk more than anything.:laugh1:

Seriously, congratulations to Nate Newton. He has decided to save his own life. He should be encouraged and applauded.
