Sorry to start a thread just for this but I missed this play and have read quite a bit about it. Thanks!

Did not look like much of a hold to me. The real horrible ST play was Holley and his matador play on the blocked kick.

Again, Hurd yanked the guy's right shoulder pad.

Thanks BB...

I was asking my friends watching who the call was on, the ref just said holding on the return team. Had to lookup in NFL.com to find out who it was on.

Wasn't a good call at all.

I hate to admit that Hurd held. He did, but I've seen worse holds not get called. Dez should've been rewarded his nice return.

Everyone assumes the call was on Hurd, but the flag was thrown at the 42, WELL beyond where HURD was, and WELL after Hurd made his block.

Who in the hell is Rocker? Great football name.

If it was on Hurd, it was a terrible call.

Based on what? That being the only person Fox decided to show? They didn't call his number, and it wasn't thrown in his area.

There was nobody blocking when/where the flag was thrown. It was also thrown by the official that was farthest away from the ball on that side of the field.

Watch the guy's jersey twist. That's a hold, and one that directly opened up the field for Bryant.

That it doesn't always get called makes it no less of a penalty.

Free got away with some holds, and so did both of their OTs on Ware. It's just the way it is in the NFL.

Okay, obvious question, how do you know it was called on Barry Church?

Gotta love it, only a Cowboys' fan would look at Sam Hurd nearly pull an opposing player's jersey number to the top of his shoulder pads and say "that wasn't holding!"

Know what was called on Barry Church?

My bad, I misread what you wrote "...thrown at the 42" with "...thrown on 42 (Barry Church)."

Could of let it go considering Ware was getting held all day as well.

But, I digress. That dude has been getting held all year long.

Of course he technically held. If an offensive player grasps a defensive player's jersey, it's technically holding. That occurs literally on every single down of every single game.

But you're right, you don't ever see those called, because it's a ridiculous call. The ref threw it late and if Dez would have been tackled immediately after the ref saw the hold, he wouldn't have thrown it.

that was a ridiculous call. the ref(U 71) that was rite there looking at it didnt even throw flag. that is a bunch of crap! that is not holding

Totally bogus call... as cheap a hold as there ever has been. But: Witt got away with one on the Choice TD run that was pretty obvious IMO, and I'm one who has blasted officials for bias against the Dallas Cowboys.
