I know, it's a silly thing in the grand scheme, but he's wearing a T shirt and backwards cap. Call me old fashioned, but if your college jersey is retired and you get the key to the city don't you think you wear a suit, tie, shave and look like a grown up?

It's an honor for the community and the university.

I love me some Tony Romo, met him before and chatted with him a few times in Dallas, love the guy. But you know, show some respect and wear a friggin suit and tie when someone gives you that kind of honor. They are retiring your jersey for all time, for goodness sake. T shirt? Tennis shoes and backwards cap? Really?

I get more e-mails about Tony Romo wearing his hat backward than I do just about anything else. Many of you hate that he wears it that way. I don't understand why it bugs so many people, but it does.

And some of you were upset that he was in a pair of jeans when he received the key to Charleston, Ill., and had his No. 17 officially retired after the first quarter of Eastern Illinois' game against Tennessee Tech. But to put that in context, the rest of the Hall of Fame inductees or people that represented those who were inducted were in casual clothes and jeans, too.

At the actual Hall of Fame ceremony Romo was in a suit and tie and made a pretty good 12-minute speech.
