I absolutely cracked up when I saw that. I had a little twinge that it may cost him in the long run (You Don't want to be annoying the refs). But it was still funny as hell. His straight face stopped it from being TOO mocking.

My guess is that he had a bet/dare with a teammate, and that moment will be a team 'inside' joke for a long time to come.

He was def. mimicking the ref, because he did the first down signal again. If he didn't I would think he is relaying the call. Since he did the end part, he was defintiely mimicking.
