Ware is better now and will be for the rest of the career.

If Ware ever gets that mean streak like Merriman has, he will be one of the greatest linebackers of all time.

Ware has 53.5 sacks in 64 games, for an average of .836 sacks/game.

Merriman has 39.5 sacks in 42 games, for an average of .919 sacks/game


Obviously, Ware has been more healthy to date and didn't get suspended for 4 games, either. But the point is, both of these guys are excellent pass rushers.

The question is simply how good is Merriman w/o the juice. However, I'd take Ware over anybody else in the NFL. He's simply gotten better every year. Here's hoping he sets a net NFL record in 2009 along with a vastly better playing Cowboy team.

I'd love for Ware to be as vocal as Merriman, it's the only thing missing from his game.
