yeah mcnabb was born november 25 1976 so that makes him 33 come november

he has been beat up alot so he is about due to fall off

troy aikman did about the same thing, he fell off when he was about 32 or 33

It was concussions that did Aikman in, not age. Just because you are older than 30 doesnt mean you cant play. See Testeverde, among other players who played the game for a long long time. No age did not play a factor into his decision.

McNabb can get beat up a lot, he still throws the ball well. His problem has never been himself, his problem has been he plays for a team that doesnt want to pay to win it all nor will give him decent weapons. The Eagles had 2 rounds to take Witten and didnt, they had multiple picks to surround him with viable players and choose not to. McNabb has done a lot for that organization than the fans can remember. Say what you want about him but it wasnt until he got there, that they became a force that they have been. He has been a part of it. For better or worse, this has been the best Eagle QB in a long long time.

most likely we were sam hurd from catching an onsides that went right through his hands from sweeping you.

but who cares.

The skins lost to the rams, the bengals and the niners. You were a few plays away from losing to cleveland and seattle also, so a skins fan telling people to watch out is sillier than a cowboys fan doing it.

:laugh2:

Every year it's the same ole thing for some fans here. Too many in fact. Unbelievable how many blew the Eagles and McNabb off last year. Same thing with the Skins who started better than we did and didn't finish any worse either in the end.

Just because you hate a team doesn't mean you can't respect them. Sure most of the world including me has the Skins in last place in the East. But they aren't that far behind us.

Thinking the Skins have no chance and telling others they are foolish to think so is well....foolish.

Shegalls. They should have made it to the dance last year but alas like every year they suck in the big games...or should I say Mcflab sucks in the big ones. There still the team to beat. The Giants bah, boring already with there mouths...

The reason so many blew off the Eagles last year had a lot to do with the fact that McChunky hadn't finished a full season in 3 years. He's only played back to back full seasons twice in 10 years.

Why would you really give a team with an injury prone QB the benefit of the doubt when you could depend on him going down for 2-5 games a season? If Tony started missing 2, 4, 7 or some other amount of games, how would the media portray us? The walking wounded ready to flop down in a ditch and call it a grave at any point during the season?

That's why nobody gave the Eagles a chance last year. The biggest question mark for Philly is Westbrook. His yards per catch in 2008 was a career low and his yards per carry matched a career low. He did have more TD's however.

The biggest benefit to McNabb though is he has a slightly better receiving corps than he's had in the past. DeSean and their other new guy could be a great combo especially if Westy can at least maintain his production from 2008.

Now the Giants, that's just a sad case on offense. I've preached this before and will continue to do so for months on end.

Go down any NFL roster from last season and take away their #1 and #2 receivers and then remove 45% of their run production. Go into 2009 with a #3 as your #1 with a punt returner as your #2 and two rookies behind them.

Would anyone expect anything besides a bottom 1/3 of the league performance from that kind of offense? How good would we look with Miles Austin as our #1 WR???

Giants may be back in 2010, but they are Dead Team Walking for 2009.

I suppose some feel that way about McNabb. Personally I don't like his accuracy and his failures in big games. Granted it's not all on him but QBs tend to get the glory and the blame. But I think McNabb is a pretty good QB despite his weaknesses. And the Eagles are a very good team (darn it) with a better than very good coach and FO/owner. All of which makes me hate them more. They used to be pitiful and we owned them. Not anymore.

The East will be a Beast again this year. I expect a dog fight. And Campbell will have the benefit of Zorn for a second year. He'll be better and their defense should be improved. If they get decent OL play and Portis can stay healthy AND they find another RB then they will be trouble. Each East team has some holes and weaknesses.

Dogfight and beat the hell out of each other is going to be the name of the game.

Giants need a WR to step up or they are in trouble offensively. Defensively they will be tough but I do not think they will be the monster so many think. eaagirls will be tough on D but not as good as some think. I have my doubts about their new LT and Mcflab will usually find a way to choke when it counts- and with his recent injury history plus getting older you cannot count on him doing 16 games. Skins old O line will wear down again in the end of the season especially with no depth. Campbell still has to prove he can really play. The boys need for Garret to show up and plan well and for Romo to cut down on his turnovers. And we really need GOOD safety play.

You might want to check my history, I respect the Commanders and always feel they have a chance, IN this thread alone I have said I can see any of the 4 teams winning the division.

Its not my fault you cant read or you do it selectively.

My post was in response to a Commander fan talking crap, which as I pointed out is foolish. Everyone gets on Dallas for losing to Philly, but that same last week the skins lost at the niners...no one ever brings that up though because people dont care, bagging on Dallas gets more attention.

So maybe you should think or at least read before making a foolish comment to me. ITs almost comical that you posted that to me about the eagles and the skins, I am usually the one on here fearing them the most and being bagged on for trying to understand why people think we will always win when we play philly and washington.

Maybe its just you thats foolish.

Well, if you meant no offense then I apologize. I'm also sorry I offended someone who preaches beware the rest of the East. I do the same because it's true.

But don't tell me I can't read.

His response was to my post. That's why I took it personally. You did state that a Skins fan telling us to watch out is sillier than a Cowboys fan doing it. Is that a typo or just didn't really relate your thoughts accurately? I see no true difference in the words silly and foolish in that context. Does it not state it's silly for a Cowboys fan to do it, too?

BTW, I wouldn't tell someone they can't read when you can't spell and/or use correct grammar. Or is that a typo, too?

I make spelling and grammar errors all the time. I type fast and hit submit. I could care less about it. As soon as we have to start turning in book reports where we get graded I will slow down and worry about it.

And yes it is silly for the skins and cowboys fans to tell anyone to watch out or look out for them etc....neither of us made the playoffs, hence both fanbases should just be hoping the organizations have corrected the problems that caused that.

WHen you lose to the niners on the road, and you lose to the eagles 44-6 on the road in the most important game of the season that should be enough to humble the outlandish fans of both teams, imo.

again, I have no idea who will win this division and like I said earlier in this thread I would be willing to bet anything that who is going to win the east will be a question being asked in early december still.

Hope I didnt make too many mistakes for it to be unreadable for such immaculate people like yourself, webster.

I figured you would latch onto the grammar thing and deflect. I could care less about typos and grammar from someone else. But to say I can't read is insulting as much as telling me I'm silly. Don't expect to tell people they're silly and not get a retort. And don't tell someone they can't read when your own message is ambiguous and grammatically incorrect. IOWs don't tell someone they can't read when you can't write.

I'm not on your side skin. I will treat you with respect as long as you act respectfully though.

Every year some team comes out of nowhere and makes a splash. Unless you're the Lions. Parity is real. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to prognosticate the East will be real tough across the board.

Okay fair enough. So basically you can respond to a post not directed at you and you can insult me, when you are completely off base, but If I respond to that you can in turn respond with you can't spell.

Cool. Good to know where I stand with you!

the whole thing is laughable considering I share the same opinion as you even though you are too high up on your horse to care.

so carry on. Ize gonna go learz ma self som writing skillz now, so the local chapter of the american literature society on the cowboyszone can grade my papers.

I think a reasonable person would see your post directed at the Commander fan as indirectly calling me silly. That's certainly the way I took it. And infantile responses aren't helping. Don't tell someone they can't read if you can't convey your thoughts well and especially if you can't write. I've already said the point is not over typos yada.

Perception is reality. If you wish to deflect from my feelings then that is noted. It's not that big a deal and I've sufficiently defended my boundaries on this board for the future.

I told you if it wasn't your intention to label me, then I apologize. I also apologized for not being aware of your propensity to respect your opponents. What else can I do for you?

my original response was to the skins fan, I never had any idea you had anything to do with it, until you jumped on me calling me silly.

your going to continue with this you cant write thing? Really?

ok. have at it.

I am with the consensus on this matter.

Philly looks impressive and are my slight favorites in the East. I think Dallas is close, though. The Giants are a 9-7/8-8 type team to me unless their receivers step up. The Skins are another 8-8 team IMO.

But hey I could be completely wrong.
