Ware has said alot of very interesting things on his two times on with babe this year.

I loved his comments from last night. The individuals are gone and it is a new beginning.

Enjoyed the Gil Brandt clip.

His advantage was that his list of informants was endless. He had sources everywhere and this gave the Cowboys an edge in finding obscure guys who were great athletes.

After some success in the late 60's and 70s', the arrogance set in and that was the franchise's downfall in the 1980s. The rest of the league had caught up.

Combined with the league figuring out that Slippery Rock may be worth scouting.

These clips reminded me of what a gem we have as fans that Demarcus Ware is on our football team.

This is a guy to whom I can point when looking for an impressive role model for my two sons. He is one of the best players in the game, is growing into a leadership position, has a beautiful family, and is using his fame and wealth to give back (how 'bout that $150K?) to the community.

It would be nice if we had more athletes like Demarcus Ware and if the media focused more on all the good that they do!

:bravo:

For sure. He's the commander in chief! :)

DeIon is as dumb as a bag of rocks. How can you take a guy like him seriously?

Thanks for the info! I ordered a Hauppauge HD PVR 1212 yesterday with the hopes of putting up cowboys related ESPN clips and doing some HD screenshots of games. Your quality is amazing especially when you click HD, so I am really looking forward to it.

Is that a PCI Express card or a USB2 card?

I'm having problems finding something that will work with my laptop.

The biggest issue was the time of the draft moving. The draft used to be held in January until 1976. It then moved to April, which allowed for the other teams to have extra time to scout the smaller schools. The information network the Cowboys had enjoyed to that time was no longer an advantage because other teams now had more time to do their homework. If you look at the Cowboy drafts from 1976 until 1989, they were one of the worst drafting teams in the league (76 gave them Tom Rafferty, 77 gave them Dorsett when they fleeced Seattle in a trade, not much else after that).

The Cowboys, once other teams were able to close the gap, kept taking chances on more "outside the box" players, which led to the Larry Betheas, Rod Hills and Howard Richards types being drafted.

" oh we don't have a 3rd round pick ? "

Cowboys have the 5th pick of the 3rd round #69.

" oh we don't have a 5th round pick ? "

That's right. We don't have one, but we do have THREE of them:

#156, #166, and #172..

I agree with all your guys comments about Dieon, but I think when he was talking draft picks, what he was saying was we have Roy who was a 1st round pick. Roy looks around to see what his supporting cast is and there is not a second, third or 4th round pick among them. That's the way I interpreted it anyway.

Of course, he's still wrong. Stanback was a 4th IIRC. On the other hand, he hasn't been much of a receiver to date either.
