Why is it necessary to believe that Romo had to sign off on the Owens' release? (Referring to the final video.)

I've never seen Jerry Jones as a person who feels the need to consult with any player to make a decision. He was around the team to see Owens' effect on it. He had coaches and his son to consult with, and he had the voice of several other coach/GM types telling him to get rid of Owens.

You get interview after interview of all these players surprised by Owens' release, yet because Romo is the quarterback he can't be surprised by it and has to have had a hand in it.

I'm not saying it isn't possible that Romo was consulted, but I think it's a bit much to presume that he was.

I don't think he was consulted directly.

I do think his frustration with the situation was a major factor in the decision, but it wasn't something he sat in front of Jerry and/or Wade and talked about.
