Viking game should be unwatchable by half time

DMN saying Rudy Carpenter to get alot of playing time. Pre season is two games too long. They already know who is going to make the squad. Hopefully nobody else gets hurt. Ziggy Wilf gets a fat pay day though, must be nice.

I don't want to see Kitna, Choice, Phillips, Ogletree even, on the field. I want to see nothing but Rudy C., Lattimore, Scott Chandler, Scandrick, Gibbons, Duke Preston, M. Johnson. I hope they're all in shape for four quarters.

I hope they play the second-string special teams too, if there is such a thing.

I'll be glad when the reg season starts but I'm still looking forward to this last pre-season game to see the backups get some extended time and maybe a couple of bubble players get one last shot to make the team or PS. It is not hard to watch if you treat pre-season for what it is and that is a glorified scrimmage so players can get some work in a game like situation

All one has to do is look at the career of Kurt Warner. Carpenter may be a long shot but they do happen. I hope he can show himself and get a chance some where. He is just a young guy trying to live the dream

That's just crazy.

I didnt like the 6 preseason games, but I liked the 14 games schedules. I like the 16 games schedules too, but going to 17 or 18 as they apparently are determined to do is a dumb idea IMO. They can barely keep guys healthy for the 16 games plus playoffs they have now. What good is playing 18 games in the regular season if all your best guys get killed and then you fail miserably in the playoffs because of it? IMO it would definitely happen with a great frequency if they add more games.

i'm not sure season ticket fans were required to pay for those 6 practice games then as part of their package, or whether the players stayed in a football mode all year, as they do today. They may have needed those 6 games just to get players in shape.

I am with you. They can reduce the pre-season to three games, maybe two, but please leave the regular season alone!

I remember the league frowns on starting your absolute scrubs for preseason games (? I think) .. that may be why Wade was waffling on saying that he wouldn't play any of his starters ... it might agitate the poor season ticket holders that pay money for these games ..

I hope Rudy Carpenter starts and finishes the game and looks like the second coming of his mentor, Joe Montana. And Courtney Brown has a 100 yard INT for a TD to win the game and Wade can give him a love bump.
