Vikings fire HC Mike Zimmer

Is Rivera going to be available he's one of my 3 top choices.

I was just reading that the GM was gonna be retained, while Zimmer was getting the axe. Cleaning house…

And just like that.

Another coordinator option if we were to lose Quinn. But it concerns me that Zim would have to bring his son and heir apparent with him. The kid’s defenses haven’t been as good as Dad’s.

Yeah I don't want him but he would probably be considered.

I would much prefer Fangio. He may be rough around the edges, but he brings attitude to a defense and is great at what he does. But if as rumored, Harbaugh takes the Raiders job, Fangio will likely rejoin him there.

If i'm a high profile coaching candidate this is a job i'm staying away from. You have two really good to elite level skill players on offense, some pieces in Hunter, Pierce, Smith, etc on defense, but overall this team needs help at almost every unit. QB is a headache to figure out, Oline isnt the worst in the league but needs multiple replacements, lbs are possibly a mess with Barr a FA, Kendricks had a down year for his standards + an out in his contract this year. Smith is aging at S, DB as a whole is kind of underwhelming.

Honestly feels like Zimmer probably did about as good as you could have expected with that unit. Maybe you go out and find an offensive wizard, get some oline support and make one last all in run with Cousins. Feels like that move may set you back even more though. Very interesting to see what direction they go in.
