Vikings game review: Romo pretty darn good

I have reviewed the all 22 and thought I'd share my thoughts.

Some of what jumps out are fairly obvious, like Romo is good, Sean lee is just a tremendous football player, etc.

I noted a few times how 71 showed great hustle. Next man up.

I see Parnell is sometimes in as an extra te on short yardage which makes a lot of sense because our te's don't block well.

There are times when I think it is over for 73, that he will be our undoing, but then there are other times where he does some good things. Would like to see him finish a little better a be little more relentless.

Sure like the way 72 is playing. Occasionally struggles with quickness.

I like Heath. Wonder if we'll see Heath and Wilcox in as nickel safeties when JJ is healthy.

I saw some say Romo was a little off. I disagree so thought I'd go through all of Romo's incompletions. He was 34 of 51. 66 percent completion. Here are his incompletions.

1. Throw to wit. Had to throw away from linebacker. 82 should of had it.

2. A little behind Dez but he should have caught it.

3. Swing to 29. Dropped. Wouldn't have gained anything anyway.

4. Thrown away to 83.

5. Dropped by 11.

6. Inc. to 11. Beasley stopped and Romo thought he would keep running. Miscommunication

7. Screen to 11. Poor throw.

8. Witten dropped. Would have been 15 yard gain

9. Drop by twill. Would have been 30 yard gain.

10. Thrown behind Dez. He got a hand on it.

11. Scramble and throw to end zone to 88. Overthrown slightly.

12. Inc to Dez, penalty on Dez.

13. Drop by Dez . Could have been 20 plus gain

14. Caught by 83 out of bounds.

15. Int.

16. 83 dropped. Would have been 10 yard gain.

17. Throwaway to avoid sack.

If guys would have just caught those passes that hit them in the hands Romo's numbers could have been 39-51 400 plus yards.

30 yd throw to t-will was a bad throw. t-will had to stop dead in his tracks to get back to that ball.

A lot of people haven't recognized that Williams has played really poorly in the last couple games, and that Dez played poorly in this last game.

I heard a lot of people say Witten had a great game too, but outside of that touchdown, I didn't see it.

We had way too many drops. Terrance Williams had a really high catch percentage early on, but something people were harping on was the fact that he likes to catch with his body. There are at least two problems with that. First it's a much less secure way of catching the football and two it means he is letting the ball come to him rather than going to get it. Both these things can result in interceptions.

Everyone says that Dez has great hands, and maybe he can make the difficult catches from time to time and make them look easy, but I haven't really seen him catch the ball consistently. He actually drops the ball a lot at least at first glance, and he'll drop pretty routine catches.

I think the player with the most consistent hands on the team right now is Beasley, who for some reason seems to be on the sideline entirely too much.

He had time to stop and got both hands on it. He has to catch that.

Agree. The screen to Beasley was poor pass. The throw u are talking about to Bryant that was behind him but could have been caught I would also call a bad pass. But way too many drops on good passes.

Also wil say this. There was a play in 2nd half when I was grumbling about the offense. Tony went to throw a pass short to the sideline - I don't know if it was to a back or wr - but he stopped just as a defender was breaking on it and it could have been a pick six if he threw it. As soon as he stopped he turned upfield and threw a short underneath pass for a completion.

I looked at my brother and said " I better shut up because that was a great read and recognition by romo and them he knew right where to go next with the ball.

Does anyone have a replay or the all 22 for this because I thought Williams had sat down in his spot before the ball was even thrown.

Dez sucks! Only a 2% drop rate? Rofl. Just kidding, but it does seem he's had most of those drops in the clutch, which definitely isn't good. Regardless, overall he's still playing good this year.

On a side note, someone in Detroit needs to teach those guys how to catch, almost all their guys have a high drop % lol.

That was my take from watching the game. Simply shooting ourselves in the foot killing drives like that.

The passing game has to be able to take the top of the defense. We haven't been able to do that at all. Even when we've had success it's mainly been intermediate routes.

I don't think Garrett realizes that we don't have a good enough defense to play the long drawn out games. We've got to strike early and often. If games go down to the wire, we're going to lose about half of them. Either the defense won't stop their offense, or our offense will have a painful mistake.

This team isn't good enough to have it's strongest element (the wide receivers) dropping passes.
