That's an hilarious story lewpac.
Hard to imagine any grown man acting that way over a simple conversation about an athlete...just plain comical.

However, as for Favre's career, I completely disagree with you. He is a Hall of Famer for sure. I just wish he would have hung it up after the 2007 season. Please, Brett stay down for the count!

If I were the Vikes I would not sign Brett. He has a shoulder problem that will require surgery (at least according to reports I have read) and given his age it would not be worth bringing him in for 1 year. As for Brett I don't hold it aginst any player who struggles with retiring. Many of these guys have spent most of their life playing a game they love it is hard from some to walk away. I agree with DFWJC Brett is a sure HOF QB

I don't have a problem with him wanting to continue to play it's the way he's went about it the last few years. I know it's a hard decision but you can't string your team along and play the "i'll make up my mind when I make up my mind" card year in and year out and not expect people to get a litttle tired of it.

They are a team and they have to start preparing as a team either with him, or without him, but when you're hands are tied for weeks and months on end, while he decides, that makes things more difficult.

I certainly wouldn't be one to tell him he can't play anymore, play as long as he likes. I don't care how long he plays, that's up to him.

The guy just needs to make those decisions a little quicker, and more friendly to the team(s) he's playing for, rather than leaving them wondering.

That was my only real issue with it, I guess, and even that wasn't an issue at first, being a fan of him and all, but after a while I too grew tired of that same old game.

I read on Yahoo sports just a couple of minutes ago that the possibility of playing for the Vikes is very real because apparently he's told people in private that he can't retire until he gets revenge on Greenbay, that he hates them so much now for the way they 'forced' him out of there.

That just seems childish and petty to me so if there is any truth to that it's a shame.

I agree he needs to make up his mind right away but it is up to the team if they want to wait around or not. GB chooses to move on and did. The Jets choose to bring him in and do not look to be waiting on Brett. I don't know what the vikes will do or not but if Brett wants to wait until Aug that is his business it does not mean others should wait around for him. As for getting back at GB it is hard to know how much is gossip and how much is truth I will say there were some hard feelings no doubt about.

I SAID he was a "first ballot" HOF'er. No one could not concede that he's gonna' make it. I just put a little different twist on "why" he makes it in. I think he was good, pretty darn good, but not an "all time great" for his actual performances between the lines on Sundays. He makes the HOF because of his bloated numbers throwing to nobody's, and because he played in "The Frozen Tundra" and a lot of "the supposed glory" of the whole "Packer thing" rubbed a ton of pixie dust on otherwise "above average" QB.

If this guy played in Atlanta his whole career and stumbled upon one SB win, refused to "go away" and held the team hostage and terrorized the organization for years like he did in Green Bay.................He'd be just another Daryl Lamonica, Dan Fouts or Warren Moon. But, because he played in Green Bay and he's the poster boy for "folksy" and "lunch pail" blue-collar Joe, the "pump him up" barometer is off the charts with Favre.

"I agree he needs to make up his mind right away".

Hasn't THAT been the problem with this guy? I say, take away the opportunity and option. Give him no where else to go but retirement.

Does anyone seriously think that Fart is the "last piece" to some SB puzzle in Minnesota? I don't. This is just another attempt at two things:

1. Favre extending an already exacerbated career to pad HIS name and HIS numbers.

2. The Vikings courting the biggest prostitute out there to get a little more attention and air time.

Favre has accomplished allowing his "brand" to be the hottest show in town, but it includes the word "side" in the word "show". As in "sideshow". That's ALL he brings to the table. Ask the Jets.........................

Well it will certainly bring one side show for sure...the year long "Will this be the final time Favre plays in this stadium, against this team, the final time for him on the field" stuff from ESPN and NFLnetwork like they've both done the last few years.
