I was curious with the way the Vikings slapped Romo around was the a relection of our OL not being talented enough ? What player on the OL really need to be replaced ?

Romo did say due to the loud condition it was difficult to check out of play. I really do not think the line is as bad as they looked that game but I do think it is an area that we can improve on. I'm not as ready to ditch starters on our line as some are but I do think it is time to get guy in here who can become starters in the very near future.

"Replacing" is the wrong phrase. "Shoring up" would be more appropriate in my opinion.

We need to draft one of each to stiffen up the competition and solidify the line.

OT, C, G

Yep.

We dont have a lot of holes so the obvious place to upgrade would be our oline.

We needed a home game to beat the Vikings because they were just to much for us to handle at their place. We couldn't block those guys at all

I never felt that the Vikings Offensvie Line was that more dominant.

I think Brad Childress and Leslie Frazier did a great job of motivating the heck out of his players.

I don't think I have ever seen a stat line like Ray Edwards had after the game against Dallas.

Those guys came out like the lives of their mothers depended on them dominating the person across from them wearing a star on their helmet.

I think some of our guys got a little overconfident(Sensabaugh) and they just didn't look prepared or motivated. Bigg Davis imo is our best o-linemen and he played terrible. he had no idea who to block when the Vikings would stunt and twist. than you got Marc who just got owned all game long by Ray Edwards and the right side of the line was swiss cheese. Add in the fact you got Jared Allen going at a young guy playing out of position and you got a disaster up front. not to mention they were fresh off a bye and I feared going into that game that we shot our load putting everything into beating a hated division rival in the Eagles.

Yep that O-line was spent and Colombo coming off a broken leg is on the coaches, he had no bidness out there...

Our guys are just too big. They tend to struggle against smaller and faster D lines. I think we went to far with the big OL and need to plug in some smaller faster guys at least as backups

Although Columbo is a trooper, he was not completely healthy, he had issues getting out of his stance. I am not ready to replace him, he just needs to get 100% healthy.

As I mentioned before, you cannot discount the effect that HFA had for them. They have not been the same team on the road all year (4-5) and that pass rush defintiely benefitted from the crowd noise.

The snap counts we used really couldnt be varied much, and I also noticed that when we did go to shotgun that it appeared Romo didnt take as deep a set as he normally does, possibly because being a little closer allowed the OL's and receivers to hear him better.

Anytime you have a good pass rush, it will be amplified playing at home. We totally dominated Philly two weeks in a row, partly because of that.

That and Colombo just got ***** slapped for 60 minutes.

I still think it had more to do with scheme and injury.

Most of Jared Allen's big plays came while being blocked 1-1 by Jason Witten. I think it's foolish to even try to block a great pass rusher with a TE...help or double team, yes, but not alone.

When Flo was injured, we sent the extra help from TE or backs to help Free; that's when #91 exposed Colombo's lack of mobility and killed him.

IMO, we probably should have been lining up with 2 TE's, 2 WR's, and 1 back. Run from this set or pass, and if you pass, send one TE out and have the back looking to help that OT.

Jason Witten was embarrassed by Allen and Colombo was embarrassed by #91. We didn't seem to adjust our own scheme when Flo went down...just my untrained opinion.

Just remember, upgrading our OL won't actually matter this year. You don't draft a late first round OT and actually think he'll show up better than Colombo, Flozell, maybe not even Free...you draft an OT for the next year or so.

Could a first or second round pick possibly win an OG spot initially over our LG? Possibly, but I actually don't think any rookie will come in and win a starting spot this year. Our guys may not be good enough for the probowl or to dominate a top defensive front, but they're also too good to be beaten out by a rookie.
