Vikings released QB John David Booty.
Booty, who was on the Vikings' practice squad, was cut to make room for tackle Clint Oldenburg. So much for all that talk that Booty's presence would allow the team to trade Tarvaris Jackson or Sage Rosenfels. The Vikings obviously never thought too much of the 2008 fifth-round pick.
