Vince Young hires agent, aims to return to football

Vince Young hasn't given up on his dream of playing pro football.

The former Texas star quarterback and first-round pick of the Titans has hired agent Leigh Steinberg to help him find a new home in the NFL:

Vince Young has a desire to play more football. He signed on with sports agent Leigh Steinberg! Good luck VY!

Young hasn't taken a regular-season snap since playing with the Philadelphia "Dream Team" Eagles in 2011. At 33, he'll struggle to find suitors, but plenty around the league still remember the level of fascination he created coming out of college:

Every time I see Vince Young's name I think back to that draft...We had a coach on our staff that compared him to Michael Jordan.

This is what his 3rd or 4th comeback attempt? If the last 2-3 failed, what makes a 33 year old wackjob have more of a chance that an 27 year old wackjob?

Not really, they won more with the rotting corpse of Kerry Collins in 2008 than they ever did with Vince Young. The problem was VY was brutally stupid, which is not a correctable condition.
Vince had his issues, but from day 1, fisher was against him. Vince was a bud adams pick that fisher felt was forced upon him. Even without the backing and help of fisher, vince still had a very good rookie year and took the titans to the playoffs.

Jeff Fisher has been massively overrated as a coach for the better part of two decades, but Vince Young was in no sense a viable NFL QB. He was the classic guy who coasted on athletic ability, playing a style that isn't sustainable in the pros.

If anybody could have rehabilitated him it was Andy Reid, who got Vick to massively improves as a passer in a short period of time, but he went nowhere.

A day after agent Leigh Steinberg announced that Vince Young has “a dream” of playing football again, Steinberg tweeted that he’s been in contact with a Canadian Football League team.

Steinberg wrote that he has “opened discussions” with the Saskatchewan Roughriders about the possibility of Young playing in Saskatchewan.
