Thought this would be of interest to several.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Vince Young told his agent he wanted a contract signed before the start of training camp. Mission accomplished.

The Tennessee Titans announced on Thursday that they have agreed to terms with Young, the first quarterback selected and third overall pick in the 2006 draft.

Terms of Young’s deal were not disclosed.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Vince Young agreed to terms with the Tennessee Titans on Thursday, a day before the team is scheduled to open training camp.

ESPN.com's Michael Smith reported that Young's deal is for six years, with incentives, that could make the total package worth $58 million. The deal includes $25.74 million in guaranteed money. The deal includes a $12.3 million option bonus, due in March 2007; a $2.665 million roster bonus due this year; and a one-time bonus of $4.1 million should he take 35 percent of the snaps as a rookie, or 45 percent of the snaps in any subsequent year.

I don't know how his career will pan out, but it's nice to see a young NFL player that realizes that his agent works for HIM...

TITANS SIGN YOUNG

The Tennessee Titans have reached an agreement with quarterback Vince Young, the No. 3 overall pick in the draft.

Per published reports, Young's deal will be worth up to $58 million with $25.7 million in guaranteed money. The contract signed by No. 1 overall pick Mario Williams of the Texans will pay $26.5 million in guaranteed money.

Despite claims that Young's deal has a greater total value than Williams' $54 million deal, keep in mind that $54 million is the base value of the Williams deal. With incentives, Williams can make up to $62 million.

But reality rarely gets in the way of an effort by an agent to trumpet a contract, especially when he's trying to create the impression that a novice agent did better at No. 3 than a seasoned agent did at No. 1.

We'll get the full details and do a comprehensive comparison of the two contracts.

He's a good kid and all, but perhaps for future contract signatures someone should inform him that it is not spelled "Yung"...

Another reason why Vince is so great, instead of holding out for a little more he told his agent to get the deal as soon as possible and he did. Its going to be awesome to see what kind of things he can do at the Pro level. It wasnt for me loving the Cowboys so much, the titans would probably be my favorite team. Damn Vince is gonna be a great player for a long time

gettin paid, gettin paid...

Young shows again that he is a quality individual and it is good to see he knows how to work with an agent instead of working for the agent.
