ok my bad. it appears VIP is offered when the field is off limits only. i just looked up october 10, and they have this on the site:

"
Oct. 10: *RALLY DAY* No Post-Game Interview Room. Cowboys Locker Room is not guaranteed! First VIP Guided tour will depart at 8:00AM. Rally Day hours are from 8:00AM-1:00PM. "

no field access then? :(

Do the VIP tour. I don't know about the other stuff on your ticket. When I did the tour we went everywhere. Locker rooms (even the cheerleaders) luxury suites, field access, and more. The tour guide explained a lot and it was money well spent. I went the day after the game so the extra access probably had a lot to do with that.

I've done both. VIP adds in the Suites, Jerry's box, more descriptions, etc. If it's your first time, that's probably best. Once you've done it, I would only bother with the self guided. Then you can wander as you please (in open areas), and spend most of the time on the field. I'm going to the NE game as well, but I haven't decided if I want to go to the stadium on Saturday. We don't have anything planned for that day (Weezer concert on Friday night), so maybe we will. Last time we barely spent any time on the field since we were headed home that day and stopped to do the tour first thing in the morning the day after the game.
