There is no better place to be than in the front of a television enjoying a Cowboys game while giving thanks and stuffing your face. A relative asked me after the game "why do they have to win like that"... my response.. "I can remember the many many recent years being on the losing end of those games. It's nice to find the team on the winning end".
This team is in a solid place right now. Despite key injuries, they're winning the games they are supposed to be winning. The best dilemma to have is one where you have to figure out what to do with Dez, Laurent, & Miles. Add that dilemma to the solid emergence of a consistent running game thanks to Demarco. Another 128 yards from scrimmage for DeMarco. Workhorse status! Can you say total nightmare for opposing defensive coordinators when Miles returns? The WR that ends up playing a hefty bit of time in the slot will find himself open early and often.
The offensive line is continuing to gel. It was obvious they struggled a bit yesterday but they still contributed to a solid game from DeMarco and allowed just one sack despite what might have appeared to be a sea of pressure on Romo. Don't get it twisted. Miami was on a streak and we ended it promptly on Dan "Money Man" Bailey's 26th straight FG. Their defensive line was a consistent area of strength for them yesterday. By no means am I saying our oline deserves accolades for their efforts. No. I am simply saying that this is the time of year where champions are made. We are witnessing the process of this team developing into a very tough team to beat. That is how champions are made. They go from getting blown out regularly to losing the close ones. Then the lightbulb begins to come on and they start winning the close ones. We are witnessing the molding of a championship caliber team folks. I don't know about you but I love seeing it all unfold before my very eyes. Back to the oline... I was one of the early adopters of Doug Free's talent/potential and I still believe in him. That said, I believe that we will witness a shift in the offseason that swaps Free and Smith at the tackle spots. Tyrone has more upside and also has the natural build combined with the necessary athleticism to play LT. I see it happening.
We get to rest and come back ready to focus on 8-4. It doesn't matter who you line up in front of this team from here on out (even the Eagles..), they are going to fight until the final horn. I absolutely love the team personality that has grown from the the Rob Ryan/Jason Garrett nucleus!
