<quoteWoodysGirl>Galleria Mall is always the best for shopping. They have an ice skating rink inside. The Galleria area has a bunch of places to shop as well.

The Woodlands Mall is pretty cool. A bit of a drive north. They've got a riverwalk, kinda similar to San Antonio. Similar, not exact. But it's nice. The mall is decent, too.

Kemah Boardwalk in Kemah. A bit of a drive south, but should be cool for family. Galveston has a Schlitterbahn which is this really cool water park.

You can take them Dave & Busters or Jillians. They're owned by the same company, but I prefer Jillians. They have dining, a bowling alley and pool tables, but also games and stuff for the kiddies.

In the same entertainment complex at Jillians, there's some other kids spots (name escapes me at the moment), Edwards, Imax theater, and the Improv Comedy spot (that would be adults-only).

You can check out ticketmaster.com to see what other events are happening in Houston about that time.

The museum district seems to be a fan favorite. The children's museum is actually pretty cool and I don't have kids. The Museum of Fine Arts is an interesting spot and it's free on Thursdays. Actually, I think all the museums are free on Thursdays, but don't hold me to that. Research it first. <quoteWoodysGirl>

I'm going to be in Houston for a 2 week training stint. I've talked to WG about what to see and do in the area. If you live in the Houston area and can think of some other must-see attractions, let me know.

Forgot about Rice Village and the new Chinatown. I rarely ever go west by Bellaire. Completely forgot about it.

One thing he forgot to mention, he's also bringing his fiancee and her mother and that the kiddies I mentioned he's bringing are teenagers. So if anyone has suggestions on the family-fun level, I'm sure they would be appreciated.

5mics, you make me feel like a fuddy duddy... :)

I know about all of those places, but I never consider them for touristy ventures. Product of living here I guess...and add to the fact I'm a workaholic.

NOT a fuddy duddy WG, just a product of livin' here. Same thing when I visit my relatives in Vegas & SF. They hardly ever go to the touristsy spots because it not "new" to them unlike me... :) BUT I must push ya, you've got to try the Chocolate Bar if you have a sweet tooth!

You're welcome; NO casinos in Texas. However, there are "poker house parties" all around town...at least that's what I've been told...:)
