I just have this feeling that if there is a run on tackles; Iupati and Pouncey are gone as well; then Ducasse is a potential Cowboys pick

Never seen him play of course but scouts reports seem to be more glowing as the draft comes nearer. Pro Football Weekly has him rated higher than several other well known tackles

What do you think?

I think he's the Cowboys pick myself.

He fits what Dallas likes in its' linemen and has the versatility and upside to fit in any spot but center.

Why not Rodger Saffold? I hear he's supposed to be one of the better second tier tackles in the draft.

Saffold is the second best second tier OT, Ducasse has the most upside and therefor IMO the best.

you all have no doubt followed the draft for as long as I have! and every year you get those "sudden risers" that just shoot up the draft board after working out in shorts. The Mike Mamula's of the football world. Then you have those guys that just gradually rise up from say a high 3rd projection, to a 2nd then low first. You see an astute team like New England pick him and dont pay much mind but 3 years later you go "wow nice pick"
I feel the cowboys are in such a situation. No real crisis holes in the lineup.
Hypothetically would you rather a Ducasse or say Bruce Campbell in a free fall. Ducasse is just scratching the surface of his talent and could be molded into something great. Or a work out warrior from a higer profile school with character issues that might be a perennial tease??

I don't know a ton about Ducasse...but every time I hear that name I think of that song by Rammstein.

"du hast mich"

I say we trade down and draft them both!

Really like Ducasse. Not sure if I'd take him at 27, although I dont expect him to be around where our pick is currently in the 2nd either. He could end up at any of 4 OL positions. Alot of flexibility with him.

heard some talk that Ducasse tends to dwell on missed blocks too much; players need to have a short memory and forget the last bad play to make sure the next is a good one. Brooders are not a good thing to have.

the other guy i like for og is j jerry. i think he fits the cowboys mold as well in the interior of the ol.

Not in the first round. I don't know why people are so desperate for Jerry to reach at LT or Safety in the 1st round just because we let go of Hamlin and Flo.

Ducasse is a reach at 27 but not much of one. I think a top tier OT will fall to 27 because of CBs and QBs rising.

good point about CBs,i can see both wilson and mcCourtey gone by 27.this would mean somebody life C.brown or pouncey dropping to 27.

Hes a second round pick, too raw to be a first rounder

exactly. I like him a lot in the second, of course he'll be long gone by the time we pick in the 2nd without a trade up.

Now we're talking!!! Draft Saffold and Ducasse, let Colombo walk in 2011. We'd be set at O-line for the next 10 years....

The thing I like about Ducasse is that he has potential at several OL positions. I must admit I never saw him play till the Senior Bowl, but he looked pretty good to me at LT. And he most think he could easily play inside at either guard spot or swing over to RT.

I also like John Jarry for some of the same reasons too. He probably cant play LT, but he could play either guard spot or RT.

Concerned about what the scout said about his mental toughness. You are on an island at LT. Maybe more suited for guard, and if thats the case I dont want him at 27 and he wont be there at 59.

Depends on if the Cowboys feel he's a reach. PFW has him rated as the 24th-best player in the draft in its guide, so who really knows if teams feel that way?

Big guys with good feet and good movement skills often go off the board faster than projected. I'd love to see Dallas move down a little and take Ducasse if that's who the team wants, but what do I know?

As far as the LT thing goes. I think he's seen as a player who could start out at guard because of his size, strength and need for refinement as a tackle. Then, as his technique improves he could eventually end up at right tackle.

I'm not necessarily pulling for the pick at 27, but I could definitely understand it.
