Audio: Voch: Jaycee Horn Film Study

I hate that he ran such a quick 40. I had hoped that he would be around a little later. Now, I fear that he goes way earlier. He fits the scheme best out of all the Corners IMO.

I like Horn. And if they don’t get Surtain I think he is their guy. I wasn’t overly impressed with the film. He’s a physical guy. He’s got the speed and ball skills. But they downplay his grabbing and holding of the receiver. That can be cleaned up but he doesn’t have the best technique. And I don’t think it’s a given that he’ll break out of it.

Regardless of the guy they get, they will have to learn the kick-step and trail technique. Horn plays just like Richard Sherman.

I think Surtain is a safe pick. Kinda like Terrance Newman was. Nothing special just a solid CB. I like the skills of ball hawk physical CB which Horn will be bring

Totally cool with Surtain or Horn at 10. Surtain has the edge in technique, but gotta love the fight in Horn. Feel like that is important, especially on a team that lacks fighters

Thats what really scares me is his grabbing and to aggressive play We could be looking at Alan ball II LOL

The more I look at the top 3 CBs, the more I feel like Horn should be #1 - IF they can coach that grabbing thing out of him. But I am concerned they can't and in the NFL you know what will happen. Head coaches will alert the refs that Horn grabs and they should watch for it. Then the flags start flying. Then the player loses confidence in his ability to cover without grabbing. This means the team that wants to draft him needs to know his personality.

What I would like to ask his college coach is how much did they focus on that? Did they see it as a problem? Did they focus on his technique in practice?

I am leaning towards thinking he can be a really good player in the NFL. Being handsy isn't in itself a problem, but it could be. It could also get worse when he starts facing NFL receivers every week and thinks he needs to grabs to cover them. Still, he has all the attributes to be a quality CB in the NFL. I would take him before Farley and his injury issues.

Newman was considered much more special than Surtain is.
