I know what it means, I also know what dedication means. what 8 days of workouts? give me a break they are off from Jan until Late July early August there is no reason why guys should not be there barring an emergency. It is their job it should mean something. It should be about winning and doing what ever it takes to be the best. You don't become the best by being lazy and unwilling to do what it takes. I would also note most of the guys who have missed are guy who need to be there the most, the same guys people here complain they are not playing to a high standard. it is funny every year this comes up and yet people like you will moan and whine about this team not winning, winning does not just happen it is something teams and players work for and that work starts in the off season. They have ample time during the off season to do and go where they want and only a few days scheduled for team work outs
NO reason? It was agreed to in the CBA what was mandatory and what was voluntary. Following the guidelines in the agreement is not lazy or show any disrespect to anyone. Nothing is happening in this voluntary time that can't happen in the mandatory time.

So what, Our top players are there why would I expect lesser player not to be there? You are right they are not being forced then again a player should not be forced to do what is right agreement or not. It is about a person being dedicated and doing what ever he has to do to be the best.

I'm fine with players wanting to be there when they don't have to be, but not being there doesn't mean they aren't dedicated or doing whatever they need to do to be the best.

Yes it does, that is why our top players are always there and it has been guys like McClain who fail to show and people like you will make excuses. Of course he did not want to be there he was only interested in collecting a paycheck and frankly I don't want players who do not want to be part of this team. It is a few days out of the entire summer and your telling me it is too hard on them to come in and put in the work with the rest of the team. I think it says a lot more about the guys who do not have to be there but always are there, opposed to those who only show when they know they will be fined by not showing.

Nope. I'm not making excuses for Rolando McClain, he's a head case that has issues beyond football that need fixing. Was Dez not dedicated when he didn't show up to these voluntary gigs when he was negotiating his new contract or did he still work out on his own?

Then why were our "top" players all working out at third party sites? Dak, Jaylon, Collins, etc all posted media of it.

Dez was in a contract dispute and yet Dez still would show up at the complex, and he is there now, as is Dak, Zeke the OL players Lee I don't see where any of these guys need the extra work yet they go and put in the work because they do give a damn and are leaders. They don't need to be forced to go they attend to do whatever it takes to improve. Coaches do not hold these workouts because they are bored and while the NFLPA says you don't have to go does not mean a player should not go. You are not much of a player if the only time you show is because the NFLPA says you must

They still come in during these scheduled workout sessions and to OTA. Yes they do go to places to put in work and nothing wrong with that but they show up during these team outings that are being held.

The coaches being bored is beside the point, the coaches are forbidden from holding these meetings now and the only staff allowed to be on the job with these players is the weight training staff.

What do voluntary mean

6a00e54f7fc4c58833017eeabe8260970d-600wi

best line ever

I used that up here once when our Law Society wanted to impose "voluntary guidelines" for one area of law but then wanted to use your decision not to follow them in any disciplinary proceeding in the future. I said to a bencher at a dinner "in the words of the immortal Darren Hambrick, "what do voluntary mean".
