Philly used 2 ILBs roughly half the time, but one of those was a superman who rarely leaves the field in Braun. OTOH, there will almost always be 2 edges on the field. There won't be as many snaps for a true LB in Dallas this year, unless Overshawn can stay healthy and be a poor man's Braun. Jerry isn't a big fan of throwing a lot of $ at veteran players, and Wagner isn't playing unless someone makes it worth his while. He got $9M last year, probably won't play unless he gets close to that, and I don't see Jones paying that for a 36 yr old insurance policy.

Not true...we really are down to just Bland and Ferguson to restructure. However, Crosby's deal could easily be restructured so he would only end up with a hit this year under 10m.

Exactly. All these years later and people still don't realize cap space is a myth. Jerry and Stephen cry "broke" because of a couple big deals and people believe them.

The Cowboys could acquire Crosby if they wanted to. All they'd have to do is rework his contract so his base salary is low and the rest of his salary is signing bonus. Then you spread that bonus out across future years.

In theory you can kick the can down the road indefinitely since the cap keeps increasing. Yes, there will come a point in time when you are paying players no longer on the team, but all teams serious about contending do this.

You guys don't seem to understand that Dallas restructures deals ALL the time. Right now, they are pretty much out of options outside of Bland and Ferguson, and neither one is playing up to their current contract....so why would you want to make their contracts more of a problem down the road?

Crosby's deal could certainly be reworked to get it down below $10m this year but it still pretty much means you have to pull the trigger on one of the deals above.

It's a very tradeable contract, and they're in a major rebuilding mode that will take a few years.

I don't know why this franchise and some of you all are so against Bobby Wagner. He should have been on this team years ago. He and Derrick Henry should have been signed the offseason we decided to keep Trey Lance for the final year of his contract...another year in which he did NOT play..even after there was an injury to the starter he did not play.

I will NEVER for the life of me understand the politics, grudges, shenanigans that go on with this front office. I promise I am over it, but I still he scabs from scratching my head during the Trey Lance era.
