From what I hear about the jersey number that von wanted from hunter, it went way beyond the free chicken for life. Hunter wanted 2% equity in vons chicken farm business.

Just the 2% would pay hunter in the 50s-100s of thousands of dollars.

2% for a jersey you will wear just for this season (and thats if he stays healthy, could be less if not) but have to payout for the rest of someone elses life?

If true, good deal for hunter, terrible deal for von.

If you all were in von shoes, would you give up 2% for a jersey number you may or may not wear for a year?

Not at all the point of the thread, but I certainly hope this might mean there’s a real role for a fullback, or H-back type in this offense.

Just something else for opponents to have to prepare for.

I find this a bit of a d-bag move by Luepke. A piece of his company? Go bleep yourself. He's Von Miller and you're Hunter Luepke.

Miller, the newcomer, being a future first-ballot Hall of Famer, carries plenty of weight in these jersey number streets. The seven-time All-Pro, eight-time Pro Bowler, two-time Super Bowl Champion and former Super Bowl MVP remains as gracious as he's ever been, however, and he had no plans in trying to muscle the No. 40 away from Luepke.

Instead, he offered up a variety of options to woo it away from him — including a free chicken for life and full-body tattoo work, but the two ultimately agreed on Luepke receiving an undisclosed amount of equity in Miller's chicken company, Greener Pastures Chicken.

Luepke graduated NDSU with a degree in finance, earning a spot on the Dean's list with a 3.42 GPA. Not a bad move as trade for his number.
