I have no doubts that he will win both Defensive Awards (AP & GMC). The Cowboys have a massive fanbase and just like we got Felix 2 Rookie awards during the season, Ware will get this as well.

Huh? Is this the "official" Defensive Player of the Year award?

It's decided merely by fan votes? Players, coaches, sports-writers have no say?

Well I love my boys, but I can't vote on a clear conscience for Ware. Individually he was great, but he is the only player on the list not in the playoffs.

This is a team sport, and I have to look at both the individual and what his team did, even more so at the team than I would look at an MVP race in the NBA cause this is even more of a team sport than basketball.

I would rather not vote.

And that is all that matters, it is an individual award. It's like the gold glove award in baseball.

Nah, a gold glove is given to every defensive position on the field. This is an overall defensive award for every position over every other defensive player in the league in a true team sport.

It should be held to alot higher standard.

I just mean that they are awarded based on similar criteria that is defined by individual performance. Look at a recent winner like Jason Taylor for proof of that. It doesn't matter what the rest of the team did, it only matters that the player was the best. The best aren't always on the best team. Ware shouldn't be held accountable for the offenses struggles or mistakes by other players on the defense. His play was outstanding, and with this award, that is all that matters.

Thats cool, we just have different standards on which we think the award should be based, no biggie. We can agree to disagree.

Done. Ware deserves the honor despite the team overall stinking up the league.

I would not be surprised at all if it goes to Ed Reed after what he's done the last 2 weeks.

Ware definitely deserves to win this award. His play was outstanding and that's what this award recognizes, outstanding individual play. I believe he'll win this and the AP award.

I voted for Ware and believe he has earned it but I think they will give it to Ed Reed, same for the AP award.

I voted for Ware but I will not be shocked, in the least, when Ed Reed wins it.

And I mean wins the fan vote and the sports writers one as well.
