Vrabel to the Pats

now that is a slap to the face of mayo. the krafts already knew who they wanted to replace belichick. they should have just hired him last year when he was fired by the titans. maybe vrabel wanted to take a year off from being a headcoach and just relax as a consultant for the browns to get himself ready to be the headcoach again. mayo would be a good defensive cordinator and maybe a future headcoach again.

I trust everyone here saw this coming.
I thought he might go to Vegas with Brady being part owner. He would have gladly taken the Dallas job according to buddy of mine who knows him. But, Jerry is going to drag his feet until MM has no options and then try to sign him cheap. Guys like Vrabel don't wait around.

I could be wrong but I think Kraft had promised/groomed Mayo and didn't expect the Titans to fire Vrabel. So he kept his word and gave Mayo a shot. Now it's very possible he wasn't sure if Mayo was ready, and Vrabel knew, which might explain why he took the year off.

Looks like the Raiders are now the favorite to land Johnson. Brady is personally recruiting him with a blank check from what I hear.

January 05: Jerod Mayo fired.
January 12: Mike Vrabel hired.

The narrative that was peddled was that the FO and fans were tired of the "Patriot Way" and Jerod Mayo verbalized that this would be a kinder and gentler regime with an open door policy......but it turns out that the Owner and fans now want the "Patriot Way" again

Vrabel will supply that

Agree. Problem is that Vrabel might have the same problem he had in TN. No Offense.
