vs AZ... The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly

The Good:
*JJones already had 700 yards rushing by yesterday. He keeps ripping off 9+ chunks of yardage. The thing I like most is that he never says anything about it. I think last years predictions and results may have humbled him a little.
*Hurd and Crayton (fumble notwithstanding) looked really good.
*2 100 yard receivers, nearly.
*Finally got a lead instead of playing from behind.
*The OLB's looked good until Ellis went out.
*Dallas has scored 98 points off turnovers this year. Didn't know that.
*The Budweiser Streaker Sheep Commercial.
*Jay Ratliff makes plays. He's tied with Ware for sacks (3) I think.
*The story about Carpenters hair.
*Owens finally forgot to drop a pass and wound up scoring. Imagine that!
*Romo. What can you say? 67% completions, 300 + yards2 TD's, 0 int's, escapability. Do you think Parcells is kicking himself right now over what might have been?

The Bad:
*PENALTIES
*Does Witten look slower this year to anybody but me?
*First possession, 3 & out. Why does it take Dallas so long to get in the flow of the game?
*The announcers. Antonio Henry plays corner and Andre Ware is an OLB. Come on guys, it's on the sheet right in front of you. Get the damn names right!
*I looked it up. Roy Williams, translates loosely from ancient Hebrew text as "hands of stone". Trust me.

The Ugly:
*PENALTIES.I'll say it again.
*Safety play. They just seem a tick late on deep passes. I will give credit to Watkins for picking off that tipped pass. Nice job.
*2nd and 32. Shotgun Draw. 3rd and 32. Is there anybody in the universe, or the underverse for that matter, that didn't anticipate a shotgun draw on 2nd and 32?
*The Cowboys lead the league in PENALTIES. That's saying something! My solution. Make the whole team run a 100 yard sprint for every penalty yard accumulated during a game instead of giving them Tuesday off.

The Bottom Line:
It was a win, but not wholly impressive. Face it, Arizona is a bad team that is quickly falling apart. With their talent they should be better than 1-7. Peyton's coming to town next week and if Dallas, without Ellis, doesn't do a lot better than yesterday, he could rewrite the single game record book.

Roy did not have a good chance at that interception. He doesn't have great hands, but I can't fault him for missing that opportunity.

Running a draw on 2nd and 32 is not ugly. That is just a play that most teams will run. The fact they were in a 2nd and 32 is what was ugly.

Anthony Henry's Weekly Pass Interference Call: Check!

That was a great play by the WR. Henry had him covered well but he spun, giving the appearance of PI when it probably shouldn't have been called.

The interesting thing was when Fitzgerald tried the PI spin out later on a poorly thrown ball and didn't get the call because no one was within a yard of him.

A lot and I mean a lot of the penalties on Dallas lately range from ticky-tack to downright terrible calls. I don't know what Dallas did to get on the wrong side of the officials but every week it seems some huge crap calls are made.

The ratio of the subjective calls (holding, PI etc.) between Dallas and Dallas' opponent is out of whack and can't be considered a coincidence.

Yeah, I know that ball wasn't perfect but it seems like every week one hits him in the hands.

That reminds me. Anyone see Thomas Jones convert on 3rd & 22 w/ a run? They said it was the first time since 1999 that an NFL team has converted a 3rd down & 20+ with a run.

I love Jason Witten, but I seriously think I'm faster than he is... and that isn't saying much! :D

He made a "cut" after one of his catches where he looked about as nimble as an elephant.

But hey, he's not out there for his YAC, he's out there for his hands.

He also has the ability to get himself open and make the catch, I agree not overly fast but as long as he can continue to make the plays to move the chains I'm happy with him

And the weekly crack back block. I don't think I've seen that called on any other team this year yet, we've had one in at least the last 3 games.

That was also a poor excuse from the ref for making the call on the so called crack back.

I've been saying this for many games as well. But, people just call me "conspiracy brother." ;) I don't believe in coincidences.

Anthony Henry is the new Kevin Smith

7 yard pass interference is no big deal, the WR was running a slant and Henry played it physical

It wasn't a crackback, it was a chop block, and it was a bad call, IMO.

It looked to me like Jones cut the defender before Kosier engaged him high.

You gotta add Ellis' injury to the Bad, and then I think you've got it.

I will look up the hands of stone meaning from ancient Hebrew, but I'm doing it to educate myself, I don't doubt you at all.

Ware has 5 sacks so far this season not 3.

I was using last weeks issue of DCW as my resource. they must be behind a week. Sorry.

Still, for a 6th round pick Ratliff is doing well.
