Could this possibly be in the works? I think that would be a very strong combination of knowledge, determination, and butt kicking attitude at the top coaching positions. I really think Wade's star shines best as DC. If he had just that to worry about our defense would be a permanent fixture in the top ten. Gruden and Rat would be the attention to detail motivators that this team of young stars needs to get it over the hump. The players can't do it themselves. The laissez faire approach to coaching does not work with this team. We need coaches that are going to engage these players and force them to become invested in the cause. We need coaches that will provide direction and boldly lead all 53 to that little place called realized potential.

It's quite obvious that Jerry isn't done here. Something else has to be stirring. What are the chances of seeing that combination by Monday?

I don't see Gruden going the OC route when there are other HC jobs still available. I think he lands in KC or NY.

& before anyone says it... I know Gruden and TO probably wouldn't get along. After listening to the likes of Keyshawn, Michael Clayton, etc... comment on Gruden's firing It's clear to me that Gruden is hard on WRs (hell.. players period). If TO couldn't stand the heat in the kitchen then it would be time to replace him. As much as I love the guy, (no homo) I would take a Rat HC/Gruden OC combo over TO in a heartbeat.

Yeah and lets get Jimmy Johnson as the Gm, Marty Schot as the head of scouting, Mike Holmgren as runningbacks coach, Marv Levy as O-line coach and Bill Cowher as a consultant. Get that Jamican Lady off the Phsyic Hotline, to be the personal ego booster and scitzo doctor for your boy TO. NEXT

Maybe it's the early hour, but who/what is "Rat." I cannot think of a coach whose name starts with those 3 letters.

What's more, I wouldn't want Chucky as OC even if he were willing to take it. What did he do in Tampa that signified he's a great offensive mind?

I think I have seen this type of combination happen before and not work too well. I am continually surprised at how many fans want us to become the Dallas Commanders and fire coaches every year or two and then bring in a HC for every position. Hire a head coach you trust and let him bring in his people. I think that is a dream situation.

It's pretty evident that Wade reaches his peak at DC. Some guys just aren't HC material. Wade is very good with the defense and that is as high as he belongs. Other teams found that out and now Jerry has too. That being said, I would love to have Shanny as HC (brings some instant credibility and "no BS" toughness - which we sorely need) and if Jery could get Wade to stay as DC that would be great. If Wade doesn't want to stay as DC, then we should be on the phone will all possible candidates right now (or I assume Jerry already has before he let Stewart go). As far as Gruden, I don't think he comes here. I would see him as a TV announcer before he accepts an OC position.

Jim Rome made him part of the RAT family ... sports guys who look like rats ... Shanny, Coach K, Gary Gaetti, etc.

Jim Rome is an idiot. His show is unlistenable and the folks who try to be like him ("clones") are a joke. Wow, you clones are emulating a loser. What exactly do you call someone who tries to be like a loser?

That reeks of the crap we've been doing around here as of late. Get the most big named guys in, pay no attention to chemistry. I don't care about big names, I want a staff that can work well together just like I want a team that works well together.

Scratch Gruden off the list as OC. He's not going to take an OC job.

HC maybe...but is that job open here? Right now, I'd say no.

:hammer:

Post of the day. No need to stack the coaching staff with big egos. I'm tired of going into the season as the Superbowl favorite and best team on paper, and exiting without a playoff berth.

Jerry needs to get ONE solid head coach and let that coach fill out his staff with his people.

I'm not a "clone"....lol

If those two don't work then I would gladly take the Rat as HC and let him bring his own coordinators.

Wade as HC going into next year just doesn't look very good right now.

Do we really think Jerry's finished tweaking?

Seriously. He's got $$ left on his TB deal. If he doesn't get the HC gig he wants he takes a nice long vacation then comes back next year when coaching salaries are even higher
