Wade hopes he hasn't lost his team

I've actually watched that presser twice. I don't think he believes he's lost the team. That was the one thing he seemed sure of during the press conference. Watch his demeanor change when that question is asked.

Watching the player interviews, they really do care for Wade as a person. I just don't know why they don't play like it.

Same reason Wayne Fonts teams did that to him they like him because he does not ride them, work them hard or take away their starting jobs even when they suck.

He is affable coach but I am not sure the players respect him

because they are a bunch of cowards.

If wade is still around next week, jerry should tell him to work those guys like its high school two a days for the r est of the year. see who quits and cut them.

I think the players still love Wade. That's a problem.
Most of the fans don't love the Cowboys right now. That's not a problem for anyone but Jerry.
Me, I love this bar. That's all I know.

Parcells rode the players, worked them hard and took away their starting jobs. He lost his team after four years. His message had died with the team in 2006, his last year.

Then we went out and hired the exact opposite in Wade and the team bought into his message... and it lasted four years. Then he lost his team.

We need someone in the middle of the two extremes. Someone that can put their foot on the gas when needed and lay back when it's necessary.

Something about this team is really rotten behind the scenes. We may find out what it is if someone talks after they're fired, or if a player mentions it. But we also may never find out.

But something really bad happens for a team to quit like this.

I still wouldn't be surprised if the team hasn't picked up on a "Wade Guys" vs "Jason Guys" split in the locker room... Or something.

BTW, I didn't watch the Wade PC, but in Jerry's, a reporters tells him that Wade said he might have lost the team because the players aren't getting the messages the coaches are trying to get across. Who knows, that could be the lousy DFW media misinterpreting him. Wouldn't be uncommon.

Wade didn't say that. I think it's bad paraphrasing.

I think part of the problem might be that the coaches aren't confident enough. The playcalling indicates and the team sometimes plays scared. Then when something goes wrong, they throw up their hands and give up. They just need to go out there and hit people.

Found a ESPN article that talks about some of this stuff here are a couple snippets from it and a link to the full article (Matt Mosley)

Players seemed sincere when they said Phillips hasn't lost the locker room, but the man in question wasn't as convincing.

"Well, I hope not," said Phillips with a blank expression. "We fought all the way the other games, but this game just got away from us and we couldn't get it back. ... I look at a lot defensively, a lot of the basic things that we've worked on, they scored on and that's what bothers me."

Wade Quote from the Article
"Everybody knows we have a lot of talented players, and that's the problem," said Phillips. "I have talented players and I'm not getting them to play well enough. To me, that's the root of the problem."

I don't think it is lack of respect, it is that Wade allows them to get by.

Parcells said don't ever let good enough be good enough. Wade is exactly opposite. He thinks the team IS good enough. Players like him, knows he knows the game talking to them, but its the little things like missing an assignment. I can see wade saying "woops, You gotta tighten it up on game day - NEXT PLAY".

Some players can self motivate and play hard. Some players hear they are good and believe they can flip a switch.

Its not about disrespect, dislike or bad feelings. It is this coach and this organization

There is a video on the site as well (but says it is no longer available)

Here's Cowboys coach Wade Phillips talking about Sunday's disappointing home loss to the Jaguars, which dropped Dallas to 1-6.

He says he hopes he hasn't lost his team.

Well considering the whole team quit on the season the second Romo went down, I would have to think the answer to the question is yes.
