Wade is doing a fine job with the defense

Dont know if Im wrong here but dont we always start every game soft in coverage. Take away the first play (it was a coverage sack however) and start with the second drive, we played the bend but dont break defense and the Birds marched down and scored. Now, to me this has been consistent with alot of the games such as the Giants, Dolphins, tonight, and etc. After the first drive or two Wade starts calling the gaunlet of plays. We were in man, cover 3, cover 2, Dime etc. I think Wade sets up the offense early and when he mixes his defenses its pretty good.

HOW MANY LONG PASSES HAVE WE GIVEN UP THIS YEAR? Take away the Burries TD in the first game if I recall right we havent given up a bomb all year. I know we gave up a few 10-15 yarders and the reciever added to the YAC[aka, Dante StalliworthDesmond Clark). Wade had fixed our achilles heel from the past few seasons, yet, week in and week out we get critcized like our secondary are statues out there. They're playing soild. They give up alot of 5-10 yard outs, comebacks, or hooks but thats by the design of the defense to keep the reciever in front of you. In closing, I just give Wade and Stew their due for doing a fine job.

This defense can frustrate you sometimes with the way they play off receivers and keep everything in front of them, but that does lead to more interceptions and people being able to read the QB and break on the ball.

I think once our CBs are fully healthy, you'll see how effective this defense can be. Hopefully Henry will be healthier next week. We are going to need him.

He is doing a great job with this team in general, letting the team develop its own identity as opposed to conforming to a general coaching philosophy. Guys are convinced they are contenders, and starting off 7-1 is hard to argue with.

the D can be very frustrating plus today we were helped by a lame-duck, inaccurate mcnabb with no real WRs to pass to. they drop too many INTs also, which makes games closer than needed for longer than needed.

now, if they shut down the gints next week then i'll gladly eat crow but i see Eli throwing deep often on us with success (even though we should win that game).
