I think it's his grandfatherly air that misleads some. Also he's made some dumb comments at times so I don't think he really understands the huge stage he's playing as the Cowboy HC. Example, claiming after the playoff loss that 13-3 with the first seed is like a playoff win. Maybe that sells in a city w/o a playoff or SB win but certainly not in Dallas or with Dallas Cowboy fans even if our last playoff win came in Jan 97 against the Vikes. BTW: Why do so many sports announcers always claim we haven't won a playoff game since 96? Guess 2 playoff wins & the SB over the Steelers in Jan/Feb 96 don't count anymore.

Eh, he should know. He was weened in Houston and has been around the league 90 years. What you see is what you get. He came as advertised. Including the play off loss I am afraid.

Whether he realizes it or not, Wade Phillips is under a tremendous amount of pressure to win it all this year.

And talking about "13-3" or about having "13 Pro Bowlers" won't cut it anymore.

He's in a 'win now' situation and if he doesn't at least reach the Super Bowl, I think he'll be replaced by Jason Garrett in 2009.

Right or wrong, the expectations for this team for 2008 are through the roof and if the team fails to achieve, Wade Phillips will ultimately pay the price.
