Wade Phillips twitter rants...

Those are funny--especially his response to the kid asking about man-to-man coverages. I will take him as a DC in a heartbeat.

Was seriously not a fan of the Wade hire, but after his time in Dallas, I have to admit that I really like the guy. He's not nearly as laid back as his demeanor indicates, either. He seems all aw-shucks, but he's got some attitude to him. I'm glad he left on good terms here.

Outstanding defensive coordinator. Wonder where we would be if we did the hiring the other way around re: Garrett/Wade.

ha ha ha....Grubes lit up Wade with his famous moth joke, and a little later Wade posted this:

Wade Phillips ‏@sonofbum
Just looking for the Light

The moth joke as told by Grubes' tweets:

A moth goes into a podiatrist’s office, and the podiatrist’s office says, “What seems to be the problem, moth?”

The moth says “What’s the problem? Where do I begin, man?

I go to work for Gregory Illinivich, and all day long I work. Honestly doc, I don’t even know what I’m doing anymore.

I don’t even know if Gregory Illinivich knows.

He only knows that he has power over me, and that seems to bring him happiness.

But I don’t know, I wake up in a malaise, and I walk here and there…

At night I…I sometimes wake up and I turn to some old lady in my bed that’s on my arm.

A lady that I once loved, doc! :(

I don’t know where to turn to. My youngest, Alexendria, she fell in the…in the cold of last year.

The cold took her down, as it did many of us.

And my other boy, and this is the hardest pill to swallow, doc.

My other boy, Gregarro Ivinalititavitch…

I no longer love him.

As much as it pains me to say, when I look in his eyes, all I see is the same cowardice that I…

That I catch when I take a glimpse of my own face in the mirror.

If only I wasn’t such a coward, then perhaps…perhaps I could bring myself to reach over to that cocked and loaded gun...

...that lays on the bedside behind me and end this hellish facade once and for all…

Doc, sometimes I feel like a spider, even though I’m a moth...

...just barely hanging on to my web with an everlasting fire underneath me.

I’m not feeling good.

And so the doctor says, “Moth, man, you’re troubled. But you should be seeing a psychiatrist. Why on earth did you come here?”

And the moth says, “‘Cause the light was on.”

I felt the same way. I thought Phillips was a great guy who I wanted to see succeed. He did well here at first. I'm not sure how things went south. I'm glad he got a playoff win. In Buffalo he essentially had a playoff game won, only to have it yanked away by that bizarre music city miracle play.

Wade was well liked in Houston but his defense wasn't as good this past year as the numbers would indicate and was torched by legit quarterbacks during his tenure. Good guy IMHO but he had to see the writing on the wall.

Hope he gets another job somewhere but I doubt he'll ever be a HC again.

Problem when your QB throws pick 6s all day.. gets frustrating for the defense and then you got to keep playing your packages with that fact on you mind...

One of the best 3-4 coordinators in the league. Really good coach. Sucks that we probably burned our bridges.

Probably without any success in 07 and 09 and more of what we have seen recently.

I see we are playing loose and fast with the meaning of "rant".

Great DC and even better human being. He'll get another shot at coaching although I suspect his HC days are long gone.
