I was going to post my recap of Wade's press conference but instead will post the link to Hostile's, seeing as it was almost the exact same questions and answers as the KTCK show.

Added notes:

Newman practiced scout team, had a pick. Checking to see where he was limited.

Ellis practiced, no pads.

If they're there for the game, they're there.

JFE asking about safeties again, deep passes weren't necessarily on the safeties.

Not much else. I am really disappointed in the journalists, this was the same interview as earlier. Why didn't they even ask about the rumors with Tank or anything? They spent almost the entire session asking about cheating etc.

Edit:

Wanted to add that he started off the PC saying he heard the good news about Everett.

Also wanted to add he said Ware was very close to several sacks last game, the ILB will have to blitz more when Miami doubles the NT

What's that suppose to mean?

JFE was basically asking if we needed to do anything with the safeties so that we don't give up the long passes or something and Wade said that it wasn't necessarily the safeties.

I think has more to do with miscommunication in the secondary, whatever the problem the coaching staff and players need to correct this

I was thinking the same thing about the media. Why did they waste time asking about Pat cheating? Phillips doesn't decide nor can he influence any action Commish takes. Media should focus questions on Cowboys. I wanted to know if OLB Rogers would be ready to play at OLB during week? Same goes for CB Oglesby.

Also, with Ratliff now our NT, that leaves us with only 4 DEs (Spears/Canty Hatcher/Bowen). Any thought of signing another DE?

Also no question re Terry Glenn. Media should have asked when Wade anticipates knowing Glenn's decision re which op he planning to have.

It obvious that Phillips doesn't volunteer anything so media needs get their butt in gear and ask the right questions. Instead we get these brief (about 15 min PC) which provide minimal info.

At least they asked about Ellis & Newman. Of course Wade tosses out 1-2 tidbits -- like Newman got an INT today -- but he was pleased they were there working cause it was a good sign.

Journalism in just about every type of area has gone south...Rarely see them ask anything insightful or the tough questions, feels more like a propaganda drill than anything else...Been prepped what not to ask etc.

On the 60-yard pass to Burress, Henry's mistake caused Hamlin to have to be out of position (Henry admitted it on Monday). Henry went inside, following Burress, instead of staying more in his outside quarter. So when Shockey ran a flag, Hamlin had to slide outside to cover him, because Henry was too far inside. That left nobody covering over the top of Burress in Hamlin's quarter.

That's why it wasn't necessarily Hamlin's fault. He had to adjust his responsibility because of Henry's mistake.

On the other "deep" passes (20, 21 and 27 yards -- not that deep), the safeties were always in decent position.

I'm innocent of that one.

Worst recapper in forum history.

Thanks for the link.

Just FYI...per DMN Blog

Simple solution to stop cheating
Wade Phillips didn't want to get into the cheating allegations against the Patriots, but he was happy to present a solution to stop such activities. It's real simple: Put a radio in a defensive player's helmet, just like the ones quarterbacks have.

"If it’s out there, somebody’s going to try to get it," Phillips said. "In baseball, they do it all the time. They try to steal their signals. Well, once you get the communication through the helmet, you can’t do it on offense anymore. Well, you couldn’t do it on defense if we’d do that."

Phillips has been fighting for this change for some time. He lobbied for it in front of the NFL competition committee during the off-season. The committee voted against the change by a narrow margin.

Perhaps the Pats controversy will change a couple committee members' minds.
