if memory serves me, a lot of DeMarcus Wares' sacks were the result of playing while in the 4-3. We let Canty go in FA, and Spears be LDE, Ellis RDE (keeps him happy and he doesnt have to cover TE's, or RB's playing OLB) Tank Johnson at 1 DT and Jay Ratliff other DT. Jason Hatcher can play either DE or DT. James at MLB, OLBS are Ware and Spencer. Draft a young DT , DE, and ILb. Carpenter, Thomas, Burnett r capable back ups. We dont have the LB talent to play in 3-4 most of the time. Look at how Jints and Ravens ran all over us.

And we don't play a 4-3. We play a 3-4, a 4-2-5, a 3-3-5, a 4-1-6 and occasionally a 3-2-6.

With Canty probably gone, we should just find another...and hopefully better....3-4 DE. They don't exactly grow on trees, but they are not that hard to find either. Especially in Wade's 1 gap scheme.

Cowboys drafted DWare out of Troy since he was a dominant DE. He was a dominant DE pass rusher. Bill Parcells switched to OLB since he saw a little L.T. in him.

Are you talking about the 46? Wade rarely goes to the pure 4-3 anymore (he did that a bit more last season).

If so, you may be mistaking Ware for Bradie James, who had a crap load of sacks out of the 46 front.

Ware got his sacks from everywhere (strongside & weakside) and in every front.
