After watching GB last night and Pittsburgh on Thursday I had to wonder just how much difference there is between Capers 3-4, LeBeaus 3-4 and Wade's 3-4.

I think the biggest thing I noticed was Caper and LeBeau's use of DB's in the blitz packages. They literally sends CB's and Safeties from every angle and direction and seems to do a much better job disguising his blitz packages.

My other issue is with the ILB's but this may be more of an opinion. It seems the Packers and especially the Steelers have more athletic ILB's then we do.

I will give the Cowboys until December to show what they are made of on defense. They better look like Pittsburgh by then or we arent winning a Super Bowl plain and simple.

Why can't our DB's play the ball like you see GB's? Granted, I could have intercepted some of those balls Cutler threw, but for years now, our DB's just don't seem to be very opportunistic when it comes to making int's.

*cough, cough, Campo, cough, ack*

That has been Dave Campo's style since he arrived here as the DB coach the first time. He coaches his dBs to play the man, not the ball, that way even if the guy catches it the DB can make the tackle. To me it is backwards, you play the ball and you have a chance to make an INT or break it up. But his style is "bend-but-don't-break", "play-not-to-lose", don't give up the big plays. I prefer a more aggressive style and believe in playing to win.

Maybe that's why i like Romo so much. Everyone harps on his mistakes and ignores all of my attempts to point out that his TDs and big plays FAR outnumber the negative plays. Someone posted about him being like 4th all-time in yards per attempt, he is 4th behind only: Otto Graham, Sid Luckman, & Norm Van Brocklin!

A more important number as far as I'm concerned is that he is 10th all-time in TDs per attempt! No one ahead of him played past 1975 (Len Dawson) and most were from the 40s & 50s. The next guys who played after 1980 are Steve Young & Peyton Manning tied at #22.

Big plays are what win games on both sides of the ball. That's why I was so disappointed when we brought Campo back to coach the DBs, he will not teach them to play the ball and we will see fewer turnovers as a result.:bang2:
