Wade's PC today

Sounded like Ellis did a lot more today than he's done so far. He did all the individual drills with fighting blockers, and acting as a blocker for teammates. It sounds like Greg was able to really bump his activity up a level from what he's been stuck at for a while.

It was a really good PC, IMO. Lately they've been kind of short, but today the reporters went on for a while and Wade had some good things to say. One was when they asked if Romo reminded him of anyone he's had (a holdover from a favorite Big Bill topic) and he said not really as a head coach, but that he was a lot like Stabler in the way he could avoid pressure and see the whole field. I think that's a great comparison that I hadn't really thought of.

You know, one reason Bill's PCs were fun was that he had so many players to compare over so many years. Wade's more subtle, but he does the same thing if you listen carefully. Players like Reggie White, Elvin Bethea, Rickey Jackson... Wade's seen and coached a lot of great ones in his day, too.

I really like Wade. I know there was some comparison of him to Norv in other threads, and how some people are just born coordinators but not head coaches. And that's obviously true. But for some reason, I don't get that feeling from Wade. He's low-key, but unlike a Norv or Campo he has that head coach command about him, if you ask me.

I think the biggest key for any Head Coach is that his players believe in him and what they are doing. If a coach can get that then he has a chance for success. If the players are doubting what they are doing and do not believe in the coach he will fail.

The main reason he was run at of Buffalo is the owner got mad at Wade because he refused to fire the ST coach after the Music City Miracle play. Ralphy boy was trying to use the coach as a scape goat.

Wade was at least above average as a HC at previous stops where Norv has been below at best. Wade's biggest blunder was starting Rob Johnson was benched earlier in the year right before the playoffs and benching the midget from Boston College (yes fluite)

You know I think your right I do see a little "Snake" Stabler in Romo. I do think Tony's arm is stronger that Ken's but he has that ability to see the entire field that Stabler had.

That was the same special teams coach(Bruce DeHaven)that was in Dallas under Bill Parcells. He was fired two days after the Music City Miracle.

I don't think Wade made a mistake with Rob Johnson. Rob was brought in to be the starter in Buffalo. He got injured in the first game, not benched. When healthy he became the starter again. Flutie completed 55.2% of his passes and threw 19 TDs to 16 INTs. It isn't as if Flutie was lighting it up. Johnson came back in the final regular season game and had a good game going 24 of 32(75%) for 287 yards and 2 TDs.

Stabler and Tarkington could both freeze defensive lineman with their moves. I hadn't thought about either of them in comparison to Romo, but now that it's been mentioned, Snake may be a better comparison than Favre.

He's smart enough to leave unbroken things alone, delegates very well and makes a damn fine dinner with what ever groceries he's got.
