Wade's Personality

This is not a shot at Wade, but the Cowboys have his same laid back attitude. There is no intensity on the offense. They seem to go through the motion in some games. It's the same thing as the last few years. They just don't have the killer spirit. They end drives with penalities instead of touchdowns. The penalities have to be placed at Wade's feet. He is the head coach and his players are making silly mistakes at critical moments of the game.

Being relaxed and laid back is a good personality trait, but sometimes the head coach just needs to be a little nutty. The Jets are loud and have over the world egos, but so do their coach.

I thought a year ago Wade said he was going to change. I hadn't seen that change.

And, Jason Garrett. Are you trying to get Wade fired. Why would you call that stupid call at the end of the first half. Your team is only down by three. The offense had been moving the ball.

That play was the silly thing people do while playing Madden on Playstation.

Wade and Jason also need to do something about the numerous instances of confusion on the field. How can the players be that confused about a play after a timeout?

Jerry, you have all this talent and you may have amateurs in charge.

It's all Alex Barron's fault. Colombo is the heart and soul of the offensive line. I just hope he isn't done after yet another lower body injury/surgery.

He's done, man. You are correct, he's the emotional leader on the offense, but his body is failing him.

Amateurs?

So what is the intensity of the defense? Just sayin.....laid back?...sober? just wondering...

i hear what your saying...i personally prefer that brash mentality when it comes to football. Ryan (coach of Jets) caught alot of flack from the hard knocks series...but if u watch jets there aggressive, physical and very tough team to play against. I guess what we are saying is that we still miss Jimmy Johnson. I thought Parcells would bring some of that back to Dallas but I think he was little too old..certainly not the younger Parcells we saw in NY. I am convinced after wade...Jerry needs to go younger and someone with some bravado.

I have said this over and over, but jerry likes it this way, with jerry in charge making decisions. This is the problem, no true head coach in charge of everything. So, there is no direction at critical times, like the 4 second goof.

Wade went on to say at press conference that wade thought at first skins were crazy for not accepting penalty, when barron held before first half. Then when the skins did accept the penalty, wade was confused, and just basically stood there admitting that he should have cancelled the last play before half and told romo to kneel. But again, wade didnt do that! Why?

Has it some to do with wade is overmatched running defense and being head coach. Or does it have to do with butting heads with Jason Garrett. Thing to keep in mind, wade i think was the one that called timeout from sideline, best i remember he is the only one that has the power to do that.

So, is it, wade hestitates some, and then its too late, or jerry jones wants wade to run defense and jason run offense, but at same time wade said he had the power to over rule all football decisions and personnel decisions on the field.

So is it combination of all, with jerry not giving full authority to one person in charge as head coach, or wade hestitating with not correcting the mistakes. Some of it i think goes back to leadership, no accountability, so who in charge should hold players and coaches accountable>

If Columbo is done, then we need to release him along with Barron and pay Marcus McNeal to play left tackle. We can then move Free to right tackle. We may need to give up a high pick, but at least we will have a player that is battle tested. If we don't, Romo will be beat up by midseason. Every DE in the league is licking their chops with Barron in the lineup. Maybe this Young can play, but i doubt it. I do think he would be better to groom than Barron.

If the San Diego line does well tonight, this scenario could be more likely. However, I don't think Jerry wants to put a lot of money into an unknown player.

The other scenario is we let the whole thing play out, miss the playoffs and clean house, I wish we could keep Wade as DC, yet that seems unlikely. I think Jerry knows he would not be able to sell Garret as HC to the fan base.

Anyway i'm just thinking out loud.

Honestly, I don't think we could release Colombo at this point. He got that pretty good-sized contract last year and it would probably be too big of a hit to let him go. I think we stick with what we have this year and start the re-building process (on the OL, not the team, calm down homers) next year. It's time to stop messing around in the draft with these 3rd-7th round picks and start using some real picks on some real talent up-front.

Free is real talent in the 4th round we need another year Brewster has talent will it develop we will see. we have some talent it will just take some time for it to develop

I thought they played Physical on both sides of the ball last night.

Maybe if you said I think Wade is stupid and they take on his personality than you might have a point because our team lost because of stupidity.

I don't think Barber, Felix, Miles, or Witten have 'laid back attitudes.'

I don't think the same for guys like Ware, Ratliff, Jenkins, Brooking, Bradie, etc.

I think we are horribly hamstrung by an overrated, overhyped, offensive Offensive Coordinator who cannot suck it up and 'win ugly.' I think he looks at Felix as more of a luxury than a weapon and will do the same with Dez as well. The offensive Offensive Coordinator will show signs of 'getting it', but when the rubber hits the road he'll let us down again.

Phillips made it clear Monday -- during his news conference and the team meeting -- that the he's at the top of that chain of command during games despite the Cowboys' unconventional situation with the coaching staff. Owner/general manager Jerry Jones hired Garrett as the offensive coordinator before choosing Phillips as the head coach.

Garrett generally gets autonomy with the offensive playcalling, but Phillips has veto power and should have exercised it at the end of the first half Sunday night.

"I need to interject more," Phillips said. "I didn't do it. That's the problem."

WoW!!The head coach needs to interject more!!!

I think he even said after reviewing the game film that the play was a bad call and they should have had Romo take a knee. Wade didn't realize it was a bad call when Hall was running into the end zone. Someone needs to take control of the ship.

I'm just tired of watching Felix and Marion or any Cowboy when they get a first down. Lets start saving some of the excitement for touchdowns. The entire team seems to lose focus the closer they get to the end zone. Lets not celebrate first downs, but touchdowns.

how did that loud over the top stuff work out tonight for the jets ?

I wish JJ was still here. He held players accountable. If you didn't perform, you were either benched, traded, or cut (depending on the situation and personnel he had on hand). He was the no-nonsense, disciplinarian, SOB coach that this team needs. I doubt he ever comes back but I wish he would. Jerry need to check his friggen ego at the door because Wade is ****** up a really good team with his indecisiveness. His players like him, but they don't respect him. Sickening.

Barron. I don't give a bleep if Orakpo is faster than he is. You mean to tell me that he couldn't bust his hump for what amounted to about 8-10 seconds (actual time)? Ship his *** out. Knee-jerk reaction be damned.

Something to the tune of a loss and apparently an even more undisciplined team then us. 10 penalties in the first half alone.

Brewster will never be a starter in the league at OT, he doesn't have the arm length and he's a waist-bender.

You can tell it is football season. As soon as Dallas drops a game the whiners come out claiming Wade is not the HC or how he needs to be replaced and when we start winning those whiner shut up.

Imagine if we lost to the Seahawks.....

Should Singletary be on the hot seat?

Singletary is the polar opposite of Wade......well....thats the perception around here....

What gives?
