Mental part of the game is very important, you have to build up into the mental part with the players, with emotional peak some players have that down, some dont, so you have to help the players. With the NFL having a 16 game schedule now its tough to win all games, with the mental and physical part keeping the players up for all games. Some players are self motivators, and some are leaders, some arent, so you have to help them sometimes.
I think motivation wise on the giants, they arent going to get sacked alot like last year, but we played well then and we are going to try to get pressure on them again.
Brooking, Igor have been in some of those other games in rivaliries, and u know each other better when you do play 2 games against a team in that season, say you play against each other twice, so its like backyard stuff and were going to go out and fight them agian, and you have to do it more than once. So, yes, its tough sometimes, but players know each other too.
I think the players said it and they meant they are ready for this game with all the hype and playing the giants, but when it all comes down to it, is why preparation, meeting and how you practice is so important to the coaches.
Its something we done like with spencer out last year concerning the lack of backup outside linebackers with experience, (thefan is talking about the loss of ellis with possibly no replacement) so last game some guys have played last week. Concering Curtis Johnson being ready for the game, not very far johnson is from the game and he has some skills as far as pass rush, but not sure he is quite ready for this game.
When you first see that big board, its like wow, and you see your face up their its alittle bit different, so you have to get use to it. Thats why I have brought the players over to play and practice in the new stadium, to get them mentally prepared over the awe experience.
With the talk of the time concerning the new cowboys stadium in comparision to the astrodome, with the new stadium now, compared when astrodome was built when i was there as a coach, so yes, im getting older.
Football wise Astrodome, was a baseballl and football stadium but this stadium is the premier football stadium now, and i will think about this more historically speaking 10 years later from now. That was the end of the press confernce, but when the writers came back on air on thefan, when i coach the cowboys 10 years from now, the writer said wade said. I did not hear wade say he would be coaching the cowboys 10 years from now, what i heard wade say 10 years from now, with this new stadium will mean more to me historiacally speaking than it does right now, and i was a part of it.
