Said a few interesting things.

Acknowledged Dez's tweet that he would play, but said no decision had actually been made. Also said he has NOT been cleared by docs yet...Hmmm (other reports saying differently of course)

When asked about players he thought played well in last game, he named Free (no surprise), Ratliff (no surprise), and Davis (???)

Also still made a point to say that they ran basic offense and defense...and played off a lot of what happened as no big deal. But said they practiced hard for it and he was disappointed they lost the game?

He also would not say they released Pat Watkins...Said they only released Hodge and Sicko today, even after reporters grilled him on it.

Hard to get a read on Wade sometimes...lol

I think if the starters play, then Dez will play. If the starters don't....then no Dez.

From a pass protection standpoint, after the two sacks on blitzes, the OL settled down and gave Romo a pretty good pocket....and he was effective passing.

We definitely were very basic....but the execution was terrible. It wasn't just one person....everyone seemed to have a bad play or two....most seemed like mental lapses. Things that can be corrected.

Dez will play regardless...bet your bottom dollar on it. I say 99% chance starters play also. All of those quotes above are just Wade being Wade...Not confirming the Watkins release was pretty funny, since it won't "officially" happen until later.

His presser today made no sense. Part of the reason we played terribly Saturday was our "approach" to the game, yet they are considering playing the starters Thursday?

I don't get it.

This *** beatdown wasn't about schemes, it was only partially due to execution. As the coaches said before this game, this would be about one-on-one matchups and Houston physically manhandled us.

Could you argue that a lack of motivation was the culprit? Possibly, but let's face it, we got run over in every way, shape and form. No amount of scheming is going to hide that fundamental problem.

But as some said, kinda glad they got whipped, perhaps getting completely humiliated from a physical standpoint will jump start them heading into the season. It better, because if that's the real deal, then our team is quickly going to gain the label "soft as Charmin."

Why would you risk Dez for one or two series with Kitna at QB and a patchwork OL? It makes no sense.

What does the OL have to do with Dez running routes? :)

Nothing. it has to do with the ability of the QB to throw it to him.

But is there a point to him running a route when it's not Romo throwing to him? He doesn't need to get his timing down with Kitna.

If our offensive line continues to "protect" the way they have this preseason, he might.

I have not seen the Texan game yet, can anyone let me know if Romo was pointing out protections and/or changing plays at the line? Wondering if they made any ajustments or just ran exactly the flavor that can not be named.

Cause he hasn't played a real football game in almost a year?

What are you talking about? Romo would be throwing him the ball. The starters are playing Thursday.

To get some experience at the NFL level against real competition?

There is a difference between practicing against teammates and playing against a real opponent.

You're wrong about that. No way does Romo play.

I'm sure the regular season will go EXACTLY the way preseason did....

Come on September 12.............:bang2:

Hey listen, I'm not in the "sky is falling" group. I'm with you, preseason means NOTHING. If the team wants to mail it in during the preseason, fine with me. Just as long as take off their skirts between now and Sept. 12th.

Sorry, but Garrett already said the starters will be out there.

I guess you missed my post above where I said of the starters play, then I think Dez will play.

I said there is no benefit to play Dez if it's with the backups.

Dez against second teamers while playing with second teamers does nothing for him. He gets more benefit in practice playing first team against first team.

And Cowboys2233, the coaches have said the starters are likely going to play some. So if they do, it makes sense that Dez would play.
