Wade's use of the TE

I hope to see us use Witten like Gates in SD.
They use their 2TE set with Gates out in the WR position, either in the slot or wide.
Fasano would man the TE position and this dictates to the defense that a LB must come out of the box.
Nickel corner or LB must cover Witten, so this really opens up the ground game.
Why BP did not use this alignment in 3WR more?
Everytime SD ran they used a huge TE on the line who was not a receiving threat and it still spread defenses out.
I hope some creativity will be employed this year on both sides of the ball?

Actually SD didnt use Gates as much this year with Rivers at QB. Dont know if teams took him away or Rivers didnt look at him or what?(dont know why you wouldnt look his way)

I can't remember if it was during the PC or during his interview with Mick.

But wade says while in Denver he told the OC to get the ball to Shannon Sharpe.

And they did and I believe sharpe had his best stats, at least at that time.

This goes with him saying that he gets the ball to the playmakers. For us that'll be Witten, T.O. (if he's here) and Glenn.

I really was speaking to how it opens the ground game. When defenses counter this alignment on run downs, they have to pull a LB out of the box.

If you use a base defense you can put a safety on Witten, but it leaves one on one with TO,TG, and Witten.

If you put a LB on Witten 6 are in the box.

If you go nickel and put CB on Witten, now you have our OL & Fasano blocking against their nickel.

It just seems endless matchup possibilities with our personel and SD ran so effective with it and less talent at the WR position.

i think the real question should be how will garrett use the te. he the offensive guy in dallas. hopefully they upgrade the Ol tho, so they dont have to use a 2 te set the majority of the time like last yr
