I think we should always be looking to upgrade and add depth...that said, I'd look at OG the cheap, smart way this year...in the draft...get a big road grader who needs some technique work and then develop him, hoping he'll take Kozier's spot in another year or two.

Totally agree here. There's nothing wrong with drafting an OT and putting
him at OG. 2nd or 3rd round. Then we don't have to over pay guys like
marco. Draft well for OG, and pay for game changers.

Like Flozell
Like Asante Samuels

Kosier was signed as a backup/stopgap. He got blown up on too many plays.

i would be all for signing morgan to a cap friendly deal. if he can stay healthy, he is a big upgrade over Akin at ILB.

Sure if he can stay healthy, but he can't.

I think Wahle ends up with the Dolphins, since they have his former offensive coodinator and line coach with the Panthers and they're completely rebuilding around the trenches.

I totally agree the Cowboys need to keep an eye out for an interior OL in the draft.

I've wanted us to take pretty much every C-G combo guy over the last few years.

If we don't keep Flo however, I think that we are going go against our trend and strongly consider 1st round OTs

Whens the last time he stayed Healthy?., I'd like him, but it's to much of a risk.

I think that if you could, you sign a guy like Dan Morgan to an incentive clause contract. Basically, he gets paid if he plays X amount of snaps or something like that. I probably wouldn't sign Morgan to a contract with the intention of him starting. I'd sign Morgan to a contract with the intentions of using him in passing situations. Morgan can run with just about any TE in the league. This is a guy who would allow you to be able to play a Tampa2 coverage if you wanted to. I think you limit his play in the first year and then re-evaluate in the second year. At that point, then you just might have yourself a full time starting ILB with Pro Bowl talent. Morgan is a heck of a cover LB still and, he's still pretty young at 29 years of age.

Morgan is a fine player...who can't stay on the field. When was the last time he finished an entire year? It's been a while, if ever, in the pros. The guy has concussion issues and is not worth the risk.

All those that wanted Wahle= and he lasted one more season with Carolina then Marco did with us.

Rivera shouldn't have even played in Dallas. Having him just stand out there was not helping the team at all.

I give rivera credit for a season and a half......Wahle lasted twice as long.

Similar things were said of Mark Columbo, and here he is shoring up the right side of our OL. I would not be opposed to Dallas signing Morgan under the premise that he takes the time he needs to get his strength back.

I agree that he's a pretty good LB and in most cases, I would also agree w/ an incentive friendly contract......

....but w/ all the concussions he's suffered, I hope he calls it a career and not run the risk of becoming a vegetable later on in his life.

I think concussions will be a reoccurring theme w/ him for the rest of his career. Not the type of injury that will get better over time unfortunately.

All those wailing and crying for Wahle: just how much of a difference did he make in Carolina?

I'm not sure what role he played, but I do know being here in Carolina he was a great leader, and they did get to the NFC Championship in his first year there, I believe. Something we have been unable to do in over a decade. Having said that he seemed to be breaking down a bit last year. They got a couple good years out of him, and it looks like he has already been reunited with his old ball coach in Seattle.

Wasn't Morgan's injury last year an achiles tear? It could be that he's okay on the concussions and is close to reahbbing back from the tear. If so he cold at least provide deph as a backup.

WAHLE SIGNS FIVE-YEAR DEAL
Posted by Mike Florio on February 14, 2008, 9:46 p.m.
Media reports indicate that guard Mike Wahle’s deal with the Seahawks is five years in length. A league source tells us that, as a practical matter, it’s a contract that will last three or four years.

The source also says that Wahle received a small signing bonus but “good” salaries.

Wahle was cut earlier this week by the Panthers, and the only team he visited was Seattle. Though some readers question why Wahle would be able to sign with anyone prior to February 29, released players with four or more years of credited service whose contracts are terminated in the offseason are automatically eligible to sign with any team. Players with less than four years of service are subject to waivers before becoming free agents.
