Waiting for resistance that might not be there

Allow me to remind you guys ... harken back to 2007. We were 12-1 and had everything locked up. We rested our starters for the final 3 games, which we lost 2.

We had the extra week off, and got beat by the Giants.

Something to think about ...

Honestly I have a hard time gauging how good these other teams are,,, or Dallas for that matter. Tampa took care of KC and Seattle and, while sometimes matchups will fool ya, KC and Seattle are two of the most balanced teams out there. I wouldn't write Tampa off, they've got something going on...

I think about that too. I was way too confident in our team, I thought that the Patriots in the SB would be our only challenge.

Such a brutal way to end the season.

Yes, the 2007 Cowboys certainly had a better defense than the 2016 Cowboys. The 2007 offense was a pass-first attack, this offense wants to run and impose it's will. But the NFC was stronger as a whole, so the 2016 Cowboys may have a better shot at a title.
Hard to say. There is an "unknown" quality about this team because it is being led by rookies and the personnel on defense is dreadful.

In 2007...we had swept the Giants and beat the Packers handily during the regular season. So we were a "lock" to go to the Super Bowl. We had Romo in his prime....Barber and Julius Jones....in his prime Witten, along with Fasano....TO, Glenn and Crayton. I will go to my grave believing 2007 is the one the got away. Don't think we would have beat the Pats...because Wade vs Bellicheck is not a fair fight. But I am certain we should have been in the Super Bowl that year.

No one is more excited about this team and season than I am, but you guys are getting way ahead of yourselves. This is not the 1992 Cowboys. We're very good, but to think it's going to be a cakewalk is beyond ridiculous. We're going to have to beat two damn good teams to get to the Super Bowl and another very good one to win it.

Sounds good.

I will be level 10 scared no matter who they play.

Few numbers for the Cowboys-can't-be beat folks:

1 - Combined number of punts and turnovers our defense forced on Skins
1 - Number of true offensive drives we had against Vikings
23-16 Eagles - the score at 3:22 left in the game
23-20 Skins - the score at 5:51 left in the game (1st skins game)
30-28 Steelers - the score at :34 left in the game
20-19 Giants win over Cowboys

We are far from an invincible team.

Ain't nothing like a little clarity to put ones feet back on the ground .( man, what a bummer, cuz @erod's thread HAD me double amped jazzed as it was brilliantly structured at a high octane level of motivation,,, kinda like that "damn the torpedoes" ship captain guy,,,)

Can't recall a weaker NFC.

Just stay focused and doing what you're doing, Dallas, and this could end up truly a year to remember.

All the pundits are saying AfC is weaker than NFC , then , it should be even easier to reach and win SB !
