3. Draft a QB with a top 3-5 pick. Groom him to be the starter from day one. Tell Dak he is sitting the bench. He is not playing! Tell him we want to trade him.

So many fans think that drafting a first rd QB is the panacea to winning a SB. History says otherwise. It takes soo much more to including excellent coaching, good to great skill positions, defenses and OL/DL.

of all QBs drafted in the first round since 2013 these 5 have made it to a NFC Championship game:

Jared Goff (2016) x2
Patrick Mahommes (2017) x8
Josh Allen (2018) x1
Lamar Jackson (2018) x1
Joe Burrow (2020) x2

of all QBs drafted in the first round since 2013 these 25 have not made it to a NFC Championship game (there are a lot of duds in this list):

Deshaun Watson (2017)
Baker Mayfield (2018)
Kyler Murray (2019)
Tua Tugavoila (2020)
Justin Herbert (2020)
Jordan Love (2020)
Trevor Lawrence (2021
EJ Manuel (2013)
Blake Bortles (2014)
Johnny Manziel (2014)
Teddy Bridgewater (2014)
Jameis Winston (2015)
Marcus Mariota (2015)
Carson Wentz (2016)
Paxton Lynch (2016)
Mitch Trubisky (2017)
Sam Darnold (2018)
Josh Rosen (2018)
Daniel Jones (2019)
Dwayne Haskins (2019)
Zach Wilson (2021)
Trey Lance (2021)
Justin Fields (2021)
Mac Jones (2021)
Kenny Pickett (2022)

Watching our team win regular season football games is enjoyable. It makes us “feel” good, but over the last 29 years, by the end of the season, we are ALWAYS, at LEAST a little bit, disappointed because we did not win the Superbowl.

Winning the Superbowl is the ultimate goal! Watching the Cowboys win Superbowls in the 70’s and 90’s was AMAZING!!! The feeling stays with you for decades! It really does. Dallas is the most hated team in the NFL, in big part, because of our Superbowl wins! They are also the most popular team, in big part, because of our Superbowl wins!

Fans of other teams are jealous of us because we are America’s Team! We are America’s Team, in big part, because of our Superbowl success!!

Having a 12-5 record and losing early in the playoffs is okay, BUT it is NOTHING like winning the Superbowl!

Having a 5-7 team, that is NOT capable of winning a Superbowl, win a couple division games, is fun to watch, BUT it is nothing like winning the Superbowl!

As a long time fan, I want to EXPERIENCE another HISTORIC Superbowl VICTORY!

If Jerry does not sale the team, the best chance for us to experience a Superbowl victory, in the near future, is to:

1.lose competitive games this year, and get a top 3-5 pick in the draft. Cooper Rush is NOT a Super Bowl caliber QB. Our D is improving with guys coming back, but it would need to be an all time DOMINANT D with Rush as the QB, to win a Super Bowl. That is not happening!

2. FIRE McCarthy! To often we are not prepared vs playoff caliber teams! To many stupid mistakes and penalties. We are not physical enough at the LOS. I am sick of seeing the jet sweep on 4th and a foot. Also, on Thanksgiving was the first time our D line has stopped a QB sneak in 3-4 years!

3. Draft a QB with a top 3-5 pick. Groom him to be the starter from day one. Tell Dak he is sitting the bench. He is not playing! Tell him we want to trade him.

4.Fire the Offensive Line coach/ run game coordinator. Our run game is to simple.

5. Draft run stuffing DT’s early and often in the draft.

This team has a lot of talent, but we do have one gaping hole and some smaller holes.
Dak has shown he cannot consistently play well vs good teams. We must pursued him to seek a trade. Again, we need DT’s. I think our O line has the potential to be very good when healthy and the best 5 are on the field. Doodle is a good back, but he needs help. Again, to win Superbowls we need to be physical.

Sacrifice short term success, which will not help us win a Super Bowl, for high draft picks throughout next years draft, which might help us win a Superbowl!

You forgot to mention replace the GM.
We are probably stuck with him.

Maybe he will wake up from his 29 year coma and be willing to make that extra Deon/Charles Haley type move that will put us over the top!! With a top 5 pick, he might have the leverage to make this type move!

Realize close losses this year can lead to a Super Bowl future!

Do you agree we need a top 5 pick to help our chances of wining a Super Bowl?

Do you think winning games this year can effect our chances of picking one of the top QB’s in the draft next year?

Do you think we need a better playoff QB than Dak?

Do you think we need a new HC?

Do you think our biggest need on D is DT’s?
Yes…but only to trade for picks in next years draft to get a QB. IMO no QB in this years draft warrants a top 5 pick.

See above.

Dak sucks!

No coach can win it all with the 3 QBs on this roster.

And I'm telling you he didn't play bad he couldn't play better because of the team around him I don't need a reminder I remember almost every game going back to 1981 so I don't need you to help me remember my statement still holds true I remember those games I remember the 11 penalties on the offensive line I remember no run game this wasn't one game it's funny or should I say ironic that's what you thought this happens almost every big game we don't have a run game we don't have a good offensive line we're one-dimensional our guys aren't getting open or we're getting heavily penalized or making dumb mistakes you know like digs on defense in that one game dropped at interception and didn't bother to try to break up a pass on kittles that was one of the San Francisco games but but on the other side of the ball there was no run game the offensive line was not blocking long enough to throw the ball to anybody because they weren't getting open fast enough because there was no separation should we have a talk about that no I don't think you do 'cause I'm telling you if your memory was actually not focused on Prescott you know there was a bunch of problems in those games that cost us a loss and it wasn't Prescott at the top of any of them you got it you can't ask a player like Prescott to function normally when there's players around him sharding in their pants as they say...

I agree Dak is not the only problem in the playoffs. But, he is one of the problems. The 60 million dollar QB should not be one of the problems! Dak has also failed consistently in non playoff games vs playoff caliber teams.

Dak’s play vs playoff caliber teams has regressed since his rookie year. The mental part of his game has not improved and now his body is starting to break down! He very seldom gets the much needed 1st down with his legs.

Signing him to the 240 million contract was a HUGE mistake!!!!!!!

Jerry definitely won't, but I'm not sure his other family members will feel the same when he is gone. Jerry loves the limelight and media attention a lot more than the rest of his family.

Jerry also had the heir-apparent he already planned to hire on the staff and it was a great opportunity to see how he could do before commiting to hiring him as the head coach.

Outside of maybe Al Harris (and he needs some DC experience first), there's no one on the team worthy of even "interim" at this point more so than keeping McCarthy the rest of the season.
Keep McCarthy until the end of the season, then fire him!

stop.
no one rooting for the cowboys thinks a 12-5 season...winning the east...winning a wild card game...is equal to a super bowl title.
i enjoy watching dallas win...pre season...regular season...post season.
as long as jerry jones is the gm...WE WILL NOT WIN A SUPER BOWL.
knowing that...i enjoy the wins and curse the losses.
none of that equals the super bowl titles.
i remember all of them but the first one in '70...i wasn't on the planet yet.
but as long as jerry is the gm...we will not win a super bowl.
he does not know how to build a championship roster.
our only hope is for the team to figure around him.
knowing that.
and knowing i control none of it.
i'm gonna enjoy the seasons.
root like hell for my team.
celebrate the wins.
celebrate winning the east when it happens.
celebrate the occassional wild card win.
curse the losses.
its all that is in my control.
go☆cowboys.

Much greater chance is an exaggeration. Of the the last 34 QBs drafted in the first RD since 2010, only 3 have SB rings...only 1 actually played a role in winning it....Patrick Mahomes, Carson wentz, and Blaine Gabbert (only 3 others have lost a SB, Goff, Burrow and Cam Netwon). So out of the last 34 First RD picks, only 1actuly got their team to the SB and won it a less than 3% success rate.

Do you spend every second of your time doing the best thing you can do?
Not really... But counting exclamation points contained in a post on a Cowboys Forum? That wouldn't even be in the top 100,000 things I could do with my time. To each his own I guess.

I can’t disagree anymore because you don’t understand the correlation between him not being able to play well because of everything around him not being conducive to good football if you don’t get that I’m not having this debate he’s not part of the problem when you get off of the top five problems before him then you realize why he didn’t play well there you go there’s a good reason .....

I’m not having a debate with someone who’s so blind then understand a game of football team game can I play well when it opens up like it’s one day his receivers are not giving him a shot answer have a deeper i’m not having a debate with someone who’s so blind then understand a game of football team game can I play well when it opens up like it’s one day his receivers are not giving him a shot answer when they can’t keep the score down when they giving a big place and time of possession because of long runs a long time a position eating drive if you don’t get that I’m so that’s why it’s a team game I don’t know any quarterback play well with all the moving parts around him are not.

I just watched it and I know this for fact Troy never had a carrier team without a strong one game a great help in sublime Quicklotz and stopping quickly but I don’t worry about your office of line today or your run game you receive your not gonna get out of bed and you’re deep as my place shaky and have a great game no do not do not need to go out and not see the quarterback build a function without his offensive line at least playing well enough to open holes have a consistent one game you play action and give them time to do it on the same time as he was getting open when all the stupid phone or having a lot of supply like 13 television you’re playing second and 2 and third and 15 behind a chains.

The Mike McCarthy reaching-the-end-of-the-season scenario will most likely conclude with his contract not being renewed. The ending does not carry the flair of a public firing but the result would be McCarthy not returning as the head coach for 2025.
Correct. Just let him walk.
