Swing tackle....let's worry about a problem that's not actually a problem yet.

FRONT OFFICE
Swing tackle...we'll wait until it actually becomes a problem then address it.

ME...
Wait until final cuts then see what we can grab. If nothing shakes loose, we have five free agent vets we can choose from. So we'll cover our rear ends one way or another.

Maybe they are just going by what the coaching staff and trainers are telling them about the situation. Therefore lack of action, which will come from Will McClay for suggestion as too players to bring in. I'm sure he has a watch list of possible released players.
Of course they have a list. They certainly are working on it.

Except it is a problem. Anyone who has watched Ball thus far knows that if he has to start a game, we are in trouble. The other option is a guy that probably should be shelved but they are going to see if he can play through a shoulder injury.

So we have a problem now. People putting faith in Jerry and Stephen to address this after cut downs are likely giving them way too big a benefit of the doubt here. It's just as likely they convince themselves Ball is the answer or that they can just throw Tyler Smith out to OT.

This guy is a 5th round pick rookie with a hurt shoulder.

anyone who thinks he is a viable option as a swing tackle is kidding themselves.

I have faith that they will get a tackle that is much better than Ball. They are in great cap space to do it. They can sign one or trade for one. They will do it.

They better because they have a clear issue right now. But at this point, after 25 years of futility, I can no longer assume Jerrry and Stephen will actually do the smart thing.

I saw he was practicing. Does this give him enough time to get ready to be the swing tackle, as Jerry predicted?
I don't know if it really matters
He needs a year of redshirt before he can contribute in a meaningful way.

So he's a rookie who was struggling even before his shoulder injury, .
no training camp, ... no preseason game experience... ,,and a bum shoulder that they are gonna see if he can "play thru pain'' ..?

 Not a ringing endorsement for Josh Ball rushing guys back from the ER …paging Dr Jones Dr Philbin ….

I think they're forcing it due to the limited options
I like him but don’t see him being ready as a rookie being the swing tackle
I like his chances of developing into a player though
I’d go get a swing

Not one actual story form any of the power that be claiming this..this is a fan posting opinions.

lets let the FO and coaches get to cut downs and also the last 3-5 positions churning the other teams cut downs and making the final roster before all these wide swung opinions of what their intentions are..

they brought in Barr and Turpin late and believe a vet swing tackle might be next..

Agree 100 percent. There's swing tackle options available now and there will be even more on cutdown day. It's easy to poke fun at the Jones boys but this team is not as clueless as some make them out to be.

Let's be honest: every swing tackle option good enough to start if needed is on a roster right now. If they are available on August 24, well, there's a reason for that.

well if reports hold true, they will need to act now on Tyrone's injury and go get TWO viable Tackles asap. 911 time. Glad it happened now not game 2 etc.. theres time to adjust. Might also need play for 77, he needs to eb the swing tackle if he coems back in season and may have to retire after this season., writings on the wall..

Not going to happen. Nothing will happen until after week 1. You don't entertain vested veterans until after week 1.

umm that was for a swing guy this is an emergency and they will NOT WAIT..yes you do go get new tackle and asp when your starter goes down at LT and none of your young ins are even close to ready to be starter..you need to see the gravity, i guarantee the FO does. we only needed a swing guy yesterday but today they wake up to losing 77 for extended period. You pull the trigger NOW.

best time to say ding a fisher type and also with cut down if we have player who might be cut but good value you trade say as DT for a OT ..this is thew time teams are not wanting to simply cut some player why not get value. cut downs are Tuesday to 53 that a lot of players become available. however, being 23 in the que for signing FA releases well a trade could be better..

Sorry, no emergency. Look at how the Bengals played last year with that dumpster fire OL.

actually, it if. Stop the trolling, yes they lost the SB and their QB took a beating ,thats NOT how you run a team..he blew and acl the year before sure lets put the franchise qb at risk because clueless fan wants to start josh ball at LT..how clueless are you..it wasn't an emergency, now it is. we saw KC replace all 5 of their OL 2before last season and even cinci went out to try and rebuild their OL..its necessary...the trenches are important, and we have no depth at tackle AT ALL...
.
this is the exact definition of trolling, i think a few of you want Dak hurt, team fail, fo to look bad, that some bad fandom. and well you are a troll...move on..99.5% of all media, fans, and coaches plus our teams powers that be would agree its now an emergency.

go back to troll island it will be very lonely on this subject and your option on it.
