Went back and watched the offensive snaps with Waletzko. Only saw a few that were not really good. He got bulled back into the QB once, but the ball was already out, and there was at least one run block where the defender rushed upfield then pulled back from the block to get loose and make the tackle. He also had a defender knock him back with his initial punch and then go down the line to make a tackle in run defense.

Would have been nice if he had stayed healthy so we could have seen more of him. He's a little awkward-looking, but does a good job of staying over his feet and not overextending. Also did an excellent job of passing off and picking up defenders. In pass protection, he doesn't get thrown off balance when a defender fakes outside and then crashes inside. He keeps his feet under him.

Of course, he was going against bottom-of-the-roster players, so it's hard to know how he'd handle better defenders.

I don't like that he is playing with a shoulder injury that he firsts sustained in college. Apparently his shoulder subluxation is something he can play with but it could involve reinjury from time to time which would require him to rest. If he needs to play a game or two during the season he might be fine. But I do not think he can be a full time starter until he has that shoulder surgically repaired.

In a couple years when he's put on 30lbs of muscle we will see what we actually have. He could be a good one though.

He's raw but I see him getting better. He's not ready for starts but does offer depth at swing. In time I think he can be a nice career swing tackle. For me, I see 2023 being his time to shine. I don't want to see him out there this year.

He has potential, but needs time to learn and fill out his frame with more muscle.
He is not ready to be a large contributor to this team.

I like Waletzko but Zack Tom is who I had hoped Cowboys would take in 4th.

Or Daniel Faalele.

Cowboys severely underestimated their lack of talent and depth on OL.

I mentioned Zach Tom before the draft was hoping Cowboys would take him . I saw him more as a center to take over that spot .

Tom has the versatility, IQ and athleticism to play any position.

One of only 2 OL to register ZERO pressures for entire preseason, and he played all over the OL.

He is just so technique sound + great feet.

You were watching him vs 3 and 4th string. Hard to judge on the level of competition.
