Walt truely put the Cowboy in Dallas

My favorite Cowboy - bar none!!!!! His book is a real funny - easy read. I wish I still had it. I can't remember exactly but I believe his signing bonus was a pick-up and a horse trailer.

It was a double wide horse trailer and a pair of white dress shoes like Gil Brandt was wearing. When Gil went to Tex and told him what Garrison wanted Tex asked what is it and how much do they cost.

Best book I think I have read. I laughed so hard over his stories. Man was one of a kind. A Will Rodgers in a football uniform

That he was. Jeff, my son-in-law, happened upon Walt Garrison and Randy White in a bar once and was invited to join them. Jeff is pretty much of a funny character himself, so you can imagine what an amusing conversation they might have had. Jeff quoted a commercial that Walt had made about a chewing tobacco by saying "just a pinch between your cheek and gum and you're all set," or something to that effect.

Now, Walt's wife was at the table as well. She laughed and said how she didn't think anyone would remember that old line. Then, they all had a good laugh about it. I guess I've heard Jeff relate that story to me about half-a-dozen times. It seems it's one of his fondest memories. -- LOL.

I remember that old commercial .

try this one.

Thank you so much for posting this one - I really enjoyed watching that video. I had no idea Walt and OSU had done this - what a great idea for universities to do this for those coming after these great individuals. History- we all need to learn from somebody.
