Dallas Cowboys: Taylor Mays, S, USC
The Cowboys really need help at free safety, and Jerry Jones usually loves going with big-name players. If Taylor Mays is on the board, he has a good chance of being drafted here.

I hope Mays made a lot of money by going back to USC for his senior season because he cost himself a lot of cash by not declaring for the 2009 NFL Draft. Mays' play has been really shaky this year. Click his name to see a scouting report that has all the details.

2ND
Dallas Cowboys: Marshawn Gilyard, WR/KR, Cincinnati
This is a reach, but it also seems like a classic Jerry Jones pick. Marshawn Gilyard is a big name and a flashy player. Jones may see Gilyard as an upgrade over Patrick Crayton in the slot and as a return specialist.

3RD
Dallas Cowboys: Micah Johnson, ILB, Kentucky
Keith Brooking has been amazing for the Cowboys this year, and in my opinion, he's the reason they're getting over their annual December swoon. He's the leader they've needed in that locker room for years.

Unfortunately, Brooking will be 35 in the middle of the 2010 season. Dallas will need a successor in the middle of its defense.

Huh? Isn't this the same Jerry Jones who picked a bunch of special teams specialists last year?

I would love Mardy G in round 2 but he wont be there. Dont want Mays as a first or second rounder, too much chance he doesnt pan out. Pac 10 is a passing league and have not seen him make a play all year.

Same here. I don't know if he was injured or what but I do not want him. Love the Gilyard pick though.

Gilyard is the only one that I would love from that draft.

Mays does not impress me as a FS.

I like Micah but the other two I will pass, I stand firm on not wanting a WR in the top 5 rounds

I know you like Miles but we need another threat at that position.

Hurd will most likely be gone. Crayton is getting up there in age and Roy doesn't scare anyone.

Mardy is a great kick/punt returner and can be a gamebreaker. Takes some pressure off Miles

yea but I watched him play an he plays slower than B James - but maybe he hurt also who knows

Micah Johnson, Kentucky
Height: 6-2. Weight: 254
Projected 40 Time: 4.71

Strengths:
Good height for position
Thick, cut, muscular frame
Highly athletic
Explosive
Good agility and can change directions quickly
Shows coordination and flexibility
Very strong and powerful
Sideline-to-sideline ability
Always around the football
Active
Fluid hips and can cover tight ends
Displays great range in zone
A productive playmaker
Tough
Versatile; any scheme player
Improved his ability when taking angles to the football
Stack-and-shed linebacker
Poised and under control
High upside
Nice overall skill set

Weaknesses:

Might lack some instincts
Talent hasn't always shown through on field
Doesn't have great timed speed
A little inconsistent
Could be a more effective blitzer
Needs to improve reaction skills
Minor durability concerns

Summary: Johnson is a linebacker with a very high upside, but hasn't caught the full attention of NFL scouts quite yet. If he can stay healthy next season, I think he is going to move up draft boards because of his impressive skill set and high upside.

Player Comparison: Jon Beason. Their body frames, physical approach to the game and range are very similar.

I rather go with - if we go ISLBer at all

Daryl Washington, TCU
Height: 6-3. Weight: 228
Projected 40 Time: 4.59

I don't want to change one thing in our WR core, if Miles started all the games and stayed at the production he is at he would be setting a single season receiving yards record Sunday.

Not only that but I believe in Ogletrees potential, immense potential to be the next Miles Austin.

I do, replace Roy Williams with someone capable of getting open. I like Damian Williams. I think he could contribute quickly. I like Mardy Gilyard but I think it'll take him a year or so for him to contribute as a WR.

On the second part, I absolutely do too, love what I've seen of Ogletree. I suspect that it will be because of him that we probably won't draft a WR.
