But, but, he's good!

Isn't he the one that Norm Nitzges just raved about?

That alone should tell you what you need to know.

Walter Thomas probably didn't fit the Saints' 4-3, but he could be OK as NT in our 3-4. If that doesn't work out, he should become the Republican nominee for President.

I hope you are being sardonic.

Jeff Ireland has already commented on him and stated he was not what we were looking for.

There will be some armchair scouts baffled by this one if true.
Jeff Ireland stated that the Cowboys looked at him but ultimately decided they had no interest.

Fans have interest in many players for various reasons. That doesn't mean they are anything but curious in this case.

My sardonicism is genuine, and so is my desire to see him leading the Republican ticket(I'd like to see him mud-wrestling Hillary).
But I did not hear Jeff Ireland's comments about him.
Thanks for informing me of Ireland's comments.

He wouldn't fit there any more than he fits the 4-3. Sounds like he is a perfect fit for the Democratic party.

I hope it's not true. I'd love a great feel good story. I think I need a hug.

Well I hope its not true as well because DT is our weakest position now and this guy could just stand still and block 2 holes, but hes not really much of a feel good story if you look at his past, including his conspiracy to commit robbery arrest

Yep. I was curious about him because it's not often you see a 380-pounder who runs a 4.9 and because of his play in the Texas vs. the Nation game.

Curiousity made me hope Dallas would pick him up and give it a look, but it was never a big deal. His size (too heavy), issues (attempted robbery) and lack of actual playing experience made it most likely he'd never show enough commitment to do the things it takes to succeed in the league.

Walter Thomas was kind of like a running joke during the ticket's draft radio coverage on the second day.
If you listen to Jeff Ireland on his interview on Talkin Cowboys on DallasCowboys.com Mickey asked Jeff if he considered him.
Ireland said they knew about him but that he was not a good fit for the Dallas Cowboys. The way he said it also led you to believe that Thomas was more trouble then he was worth.
I get the impression that the scouting dept. knew something about his character or work ethic that led them to believe Thomas was a waste of time.

Actually, he was an on running butt of a joke on draft day by Norm.

Now that Thomas is off the radar, I'm hoping the Cowboys sign that Australian Rugby player that's 6'6" 280 lbs and runs a 4.4. Frankly, I strongly considered giving the Cowboys an F in the draft because they didn't draft him in the 7th round.
