Ok, great win yesterday and a good performance overall. But there are always two sides to a coin. Here are some negative things to contemplate. Go ahead, flame away, but they are all true....

1. Only 1 of Ware's 3 sacks was really going to be a sack if he hadn't of knocked the ball out. He continues to run too wide and past the QB. He was lucky that Jake was cocking the ball right when he flew by on two of the sacks - he actually gets two sacks without even touching anything but the QB's wrist! How often has that happened in a game?
2. Besides the point in #1, the OT Ware was going against on the three sacks is widely regarded as a 'Torrin Tucker' -- meaning not very good at pass protection.
3. The D collapsed again on a late drive in the 4th quarter. Horrible coverage. What were they thinking? Who beats them? Slowest and oldest RCVR in the NFL.
4. Kicking game still sucks. Cundiff has lost ALL confidence.
5. Punting game wasn't much better. Even though the average was ok...McBriar got lucky rolls and missed opportunities to pin them deep.
6. Until his INT, where was RW the whole game?
7. How many missed tackles were there on D again in the secondary? Too many for sure.
8. Impressive rushing performance but was the Oline that much better? 5 sacks, several penalties. Penetration. I believe the better running game was due mostly to the RB -- JJones who had regained rookie form.
9. Ridiculously poor play by Bledsoe when JJones picked up the DE -- Peppers-- on the blitz right in front of Drew. Drew holds the ball for 3-4 secs with Peppers right at his feet. Drew lets him stand up and grab him -- and THEN FINALLY tries to move forward. Did Drew not see the guy? Have you ever seen a QB have worse pocket presence in the NFL?
10. Crayton still hasn't regained pre-injury form.

Dispute any of these?

Anyway,
Go Eagles, Go Falcons

Ware reminded me of what Haley repeatedly did yesterday. I don't think you should fault him at all for that.

goshan, yeah I'm going to flame. I cannot f***in believe you are finding time to call out DeMarcus Ware and his outstanding performance yesterday against a damn good Panthers team who most thought were right there for one of the best teams overall in the NFC.

Yep, you're basically saying he was lucky. Lucky my a**, he played passionately and with reckless abandonment. We couldn't have asked for more. He played the run very well, and got pressure on a pretty heady QB against a pretty darn good O-line. It was an outstanding day for Ware and our defense as a whole.

What I'm trying to say is, you sound like a petty Extremeskins poster. Get off your high horse assessments and give Ware and this defense their props for a well played game.

Pathetic!!

Mat McBriar Dallas punter had seven punts for a 48.6-yard average, helping Dallas maintain good field position.-Charlotte Observer

the opponent's media thinks otherwise

Zimmer's gameplan was to try to stop the run with 7 men. All Safeties played back because of Mr. Smith.

There were two things that stood out for me yesterday. One , Larry Allen is toast in space. We will need to replace him next year, which means our OL is in shambles.

Next was Bledsoe and the whole awareness issue. Is he going to be 36 next year? I don't see it getting any better.

My third issue is: what team is going to show up against the rams next week?

No. I would rather read a post listing the 10 best things that happened at the game. I would like to enjoy the win and revel in the euphora of the moment before reading all the things that went wrong yesterday.

Bledsoe will be 34 in February.

By the way, Ware did play a great game. But lets be realistic and look at the three sacks and realize how he got them.

I don't care what the Carolina media said, McBriar was mediocre at best.

you are kidding me right?!!!!!!! First of all give Ware credit for his ball awareness where he has repeatedly shown that he goes for the opportunity to knock the ball loose. You should be shouting high praise for the fact that he initiated 3 freaking fumbles!!!! And dont freaking forget the tackles behind the line of scrimmage!!!! He was a freaking playmaker yesterday. Instead be concerned that no one else on the line of scrimmage got much pressure on the QB. Man some fans baffle me. And who cares who was blocking him.If the guy was a stiff then the coaching staff should have given him TE help or chipped with a RB.
2. so Proehl got behind a backup safety/special teamer in Pile yesterday. You ask where was Roy all day--providing the coverage that was missing from Pile when Roy was out with his ankle injury.
3.that was the best run blocking I have seen out of this line for some time. There were huge holes on some runs. Combine a crease with renewed burst from JJ and you get almost 200 yards. That is why they call it a team sport. Maybe next game we let JJ just line up 8 yards behind only the center and give it a go. We dont need any guards and tackles according to you
4. Give the opponent some credit for crying out loud. Perhaps the missed tackles and the " late collapse" by the D were because the opponent had talent and was making plays. You are talking about a high quality playoff bound team in Carolina. Foster and company are not going to roll over with 2 minutes to go and quit
I cant argue about the kicking game but we won despite it.
As for Bledsoe holding onto the ball too long--he is what he is. The flip side is a guy like Harrington who gets intense criticism for not staying in the pocket long enough and ditching the ball in panic mode. Think back to plays Bledsoe has made where he has delivered the ball at the last second to complete a play while taking a hit. He ditches the ball early and those plays dont happen. BUT NO we only remember the times it seems he holds on too long. And lets face it Pettiti was not on the same level as Peppers yesterday- who is probably the most athletic DE in the league
this post is UNBELIEVABLE!
You know what? Cindy Crawford has a mole but it doesnt stop me from enjoying how great looking she is

The one thing you never hear when Bledsoe is the QB is that there was a coverage sack...its always that he held the ball too long. But when another QB holds the ball a long time, its almost always because of good defensive coverage.

Simply amazing.

He did the same thing he's been doing all year, speed outside rush, this time the LT acted like he had no clue what was coming. Great game by Ware but the LT made it unbelievably easy. I was a whole lot more impressed with his play against the run than those freebie sacks.

3 sacks. 3 forced fumbles. I will take them whether they are considered easy by us armchair QB's or not. ;)
